Wakeboard World Series Kicks Off in Abu Dhabi

Pro wakeboard riders just wrapped the first stop of the WWA Wakeboard World Series, the first annual Wakestock Abu Dhabi, a combination pool gap/traditional wake contest held in conjunction with a music festival on Al Sahil Beach in Corniche. An enormous pool gap setup was brought over from England and set up beachside, where a System 2.0 overhead cable runs parallel to the beach. Top riders duked it out on this playground to the fan's delight, until JD Webb ultimately claimed top honors over Marc Rossiter in second, and Parks Bonifay and Aaron Rathy tied for third.

Pro wakeboard riders just wrapped the first stop of the WWA Wakeboard World Series, the first annual Wakestock Abu Dhabi, a combination pool gap/traditional wake contest held in conjunction with a music festival on Al Sahil Beach.

An enormous pool gap setup was brought over from England and set up beachside, where a System 2.0 overhead cable runs parallel to the beach. Top riders duked it out on this playground to the fan’s delight, until JD Webb ultimately claimed top honors over Marc Rossiter in second, and Parks Bonifay and Aaron Rathy tied for third.

Behind the boat, it was Harley Clifford who took the win in the choppy waters of the Persian Gulf, followed by Rusty Malinoski, Phillip Soven, and Rathy on the Men’s side.

Dallas Friday took the Pro Women crown, followed by Amber Wing and Nicola Butler. Wing also received the nod for Pool Gap Best Trick for the Women.
