KEEN SELLERS - JUST REDUCED FROM £79,000
“Ocean Lady" is a very nicely fitted out and really strong live aboard blue water cruiser, easily handled by a small crew. She has a good layout, well thought out systems, excellent stowage and really is extremely well suited to this role. She has been recently re-painted and apart from some minor varnishing of external woodwork, of which there is very little, really is in top shape.

Build
Hull, deck and superstructure designed by Alan Pape and built by Eric Hammond, Offshore Steel Boats, Barrow on Humber in 1992. Fitted-out by original owner with professional help between 1992 & ?95 ? Launched 1996.


Construction

Burgundy painted (re-sprayed with Awlgrip 2008) chined steel hull of 5mm plating with 6mm box keel and 12mm sole plate with 6 x 60mm framing @ 800mm crs and 6mm plate web floors. Epoxy coated externally and epoxy tarred internally, overcoated with chlorinated rubber. Cream painted deck, self draining cockpit and upperworks of 5mm plate with painted alloy doghouse top. Interior joinery mostly of varnished teak and teak faced marine ply with some ash trim. According to her original surveyor on completion she was “fitted out to a high standard”. Long traditional keel with keel hung plate rudder and Whitlock Constellation cable type wheel steering with emergency tiller. Ballast comprises fully sealed in concrete with steel punchings.



Mechanics

Perkins 4.236 72HP four cylinder fresh water heat exchanger cooled diesel engine. Single lever controls. Flexible mounts. Electric start. Direct shaft drive through a 2:1 Newage PRM hydraulic reduction gearbox with reverse to a 22”x16” three blade fixed pitch propeller. Approx 1050 engine hrs. Max speed 8.5 knots. Deck wash pump. Sidepower SP95TI Bow thruster. All of steel and built-in: 250 gallons fuel in two tanks. 130 and 70 gallon fresh water tanks. Holding tank and spare unused tank. Calorifier tank with immersion heater.



Electrics

12 volt system – 5 x 110 ah lead acid 12v batteries (1 x engine start & 2 x 2 services) charged by 2 x 70 amp engine driven alternators with split charge diodes or Rutland 913 wind generator. Adverc BM battery management system.



Sails

330 sq ft mailsail. 456 sq ft roller genoa. 188 sq ft staysail. 175 sq ft mizzen. Maroon sail covers for main and mizzen both with lazy jacks.



Spars & Rigging

Cutter headed Bermudan ketch. Alloy spars by Z Spar with 2 x tabernacle stepped masts, 2 x slab reefing booms and whisker pole. Varnished pine bowsprit with s/steel fittings. 1 x 19 s/steel wire standing rigging (age unknown). Sailspar furling gear on genoa and staysail. Terylene running rigging. Winches – By Lewmar, 2 x 44ST primaries, 2 x 40ST secondaries, 16ST main halyard, 8 headsail halyard, 6 mizzen halyard and main reefing on boom a Barlow 16.



Navigation Equipment

Binnacle type helmsman’s compass. Autronic echo sounder. Autronic log / speed. Autronic wind speed / direction. C-Tronic AP9000 built in autopilot. Navico RT6500 VHF R/T. Garmin 120 GPS. Yeoman chart plotter.



Accommodation

6/7 berths in three cabins plus saloon. Carpets. Fabric upholstery. Eberspacher diesel fired hot air heating system. 2009 carpets. Brass hanging lamp in saloon. Note – some pics not inc. From fwd – Chain locker with access from deck. Fore cabin with full width bench at fore end and storage for sails etc beneath, good size single berths to p&s with stowage outboard and beneath. Door through to saloon with single berth to port, L shaped settee / berth to stbd, stowage outboard & under both, large well insulated cold box midships with 12v freezer with table leaf to stbd, large wet locker to stbd and two top opening stowage lockers either side of companionway steps. Galley to port with two s/steel sinks, h&c pressure water (hot from calorifier off engine), manual pumps for salt and fresh water, Samsung 12v microwave, cool box, Wallas two burner diesel fired cooker with oven and good stowage. Navigator’s cabin to port with good size single berth with stowage under and large chart table with drawer & locker beneath. Door to heads with Lavac manually operated sea / holding tank discharge WC, shower, wash basin, h&c pressure water and stowage lockers. Access through to aft cabin with large double berth, hanging lockers, stowage lockers, large mirror on fwd bulkhead and dressing table. Small valubles safe. Lazarette aft with deck access.



Deck Equipment

Mooring warps. Fenders. Boathook. 4 x cockpit cushions. S/steel pulpit with step, stanchions, bases, guard wires with gates p&s, sternguard with gate, support bars by mast, hand rails on coachroof, mooring bollards fore aft and midships, grab handles on doghouse and binnacle. Alloy X section main sheet track with traveller and adjusting tackles and 4 x headsail sheet tracks with roller cars. Winch handle pocket. 2 x dorade ventilators. 4 x s/steel Tannoy type ventilators. 3 x alloy framed acrylic hatches in coachroof. 2 x varnished wood deck hatches.



Safety Equipment

3 x 2kg dry powder fire extinguishers in accommodation and 1 x auto in engine room. Fire blanket. Horseshoe lifebuoy. Echomax radar reflector. Henderson MK5 manual bilge pump. Auto / manual control electric bilge pump. Simpson Lawrence SL555 manual anchor winch with 60lb CQR bower anchor and 50m galvanised chain. Built in steps on aft end of hull.
