Price reduced - make offers as seller is ready to move on to the next boat. Artemis is great boat at great price! Thinking about taking a shot at winning Hawaii or Mexico race, or just want to do the local races but do them fast? Artemis is turnkey and ready to go. Off the drawing board of Allan Andrews, built by the highly respected Westerly Marine yard in Southern California, Artemis is a great boat and excellent value. She has been professionally maintained and continually upgraded. Most recent work includes a complete re-wiring of the DC electrical system. The sail inventory is current. The running rigging is good to go. Artemis is equipped for Category 0 open ocean racing. This is a fast and fun boat that is fully capable of winning races. She’s a race boat but the crew won’t suffer and she works well for the delivery or a family cruise. The open bow quickly coverts to a double berth. Equipped with An Espar heater, stereo/cd/mp3 player, Glacier Bay refrigerator, a four burner stove and oven, Artemis is not left wanting. If you are looking at a performance boat the likes of an SC 50 or 52, J-145 or perhaps an Andrews 56, make sure you come take a look at Artemis. |

Artemis has an open layout very well suited for her ocean racing pedigree. In race mode she sleeps 8 in four settee berths and four pipe berths. In cruise mode a removable bunk is added to the bow for a double berth, conceivably sleeping up to 10 people comfortably. In order to keep things light and simple Westerly Marine built Artemis with no head liner. The interior surfaces are a faired finish, beautiful and utilitarian. Amenities like Espar forced air heat and Glacier Bay DC refrigeration have been added keeping the crews (delivery, racing and cruising) comfortable and happy. The floors are a teak and holy ply and there is enough wood on the boat to keep the interior warm and inviting, while still keeping her light and fast. All of the heavy equipment such as the engine, house bank of batteries and the tanks are near the center of the boat keeping the ends light as it should be. Interior walk through from stem to stern. The bow section is open with no floor boards and finished in white. Non skid has been added to the floor for traction in this area. At the dock this is the perfect spot to store the sails. While under way a large opening hatch works well for spinnaker take downs done on the bow. This area does convert to a double berth by simply installing bunk boards and cushions made for that purpose. Moving aft and to port is a line hanging locker with the enclosed head across from the line locker on the starboard side. The head is made private with a sliding door. A Groco toilet pumps over board or into a bladder holding tank. A fresh water manual pump and sink provide a space to wash and shave. There is ample shelf space, a mirror, and a canvas bag with 8 niches for personals, like tooth brushes etc for the crew. Two more hanging mesh bags provide more storage for toiletries etc. The keel stepped mast is just aft of the main bulkhead making the boundary from bow to the salon and galley area. The galley is split with the stainless double sink and CNG 4 burner stove to starboard and the large top loading Glacier Bay Fridge to port. Aft of the galley is the salon. The engine is centered in the middle of the salon doubling as a table top. Either side of the engine are settees and pipe berths. Under the settees are the two 45 gal water tanks (90 gal total) Ergonomically this works well providing a narrow enough path ways to keep things safe at sea, providing spots to brace one self. The engine access is also very hard to beat. Aft of the engine is the on-center companionway. The forward facing navigators table is to starboard of the companion way and just aft of the starboard settee and pipe berth. This is a large table well suited for actually laying out paper charts if needed. There is loads of storage under the lifting table top. The electronics and breaker panels are accessible from the navigators table. The dedicated Dell computer and flat screen are a racing navigators dream. Across from the nav table outboard of the companion way on the port side is a hanging locker and three deep shelves. The shelves are large enough to store all the crew’s gear bags. Just inboard of the shelves are seats with a large amount storage under, perfect for tools and spares. Behind the companion way is a fiddled table surface. Under this area are the fuel tank and the house bank of batteries. Outboard and aft of the chart table, the shelves and hanging locker are the aft settee |
