This Bill Tripp designed classic yawl was christened “Wappen vonBremen”, and was built by the famous Joh. De Dood & Sohn boat yard in Bremen, Germany. This beautiful yacht has a history documented in books and folklore alike and was one of several “one designs”, originally built for sailing clubs in Hamburg and Bremen and later used as training vessels for young sailors. Along with sister ship “Hamburg VII”, she has successfully competed in transatlantic-races, and sailed to the far reaches of the North Pole. To make an appointment to view this yacht through our Caribbean office in Grenada, please contact our Essex office at 01621-785600 |

Apollonia was damaged in Hurricane Hugo and acquired by a well known boat builder and professional shipwright, Fred Thomas. Over the last 15 years, Mr. Thomas carefully restored and upgraded the vessel; much of which was done in Trinidad under the watchful eye of a Lloyds, approved surveyor. Unfortunately, Mr. Thomas died before completing the vessel’s interior forward, of the Saloon. Thus, although Apollonia has been sailed extensively throughout the Caribbean, some interior joinery remains to be completed. |
