Description/Condition

Conceived to bridge the once impossible gap between sail and power, the Mark Ellis designed 50 is a clearly superior solution marking a new era in motor sailing efficiency. Unlike many hybrids, which are neither fish nor fowl, the Bruckmann 50 is in a class by itself, offering exceptional sailing performance at the push of a button while also incorporating power capability that far exceeds that of most trawlers.

The dynamic hull form features wide flat runs into powerful aft sections, allowing the 50 to cruise easily at 9 knots, both under sail or powered by the 135hp John Deere diesel. There is always reserve horsepower to handle adversity. The Bruckmann 50 is designed to be an extraordinary sailboat with emphasis on speed, stability and upwind performance. This is a couples boat that features the advantages and simplicity of "push button" sailing without sacrificing the thrill of sail. One never leaves the safety of the cockpit when making sail, reefing, or stowing sails. The simplicity of total sail handling from the cockpit offers enhanced security and a new sense of ease under sail.

Accommodations

We find it most desirable to enter the boat from the stern, walk through the cockpit into the main salon, then sit down and look out the windows. No more descending stairs into a dark interior. The interior is light, open, and provides outstanding ventilation. The inside steering section is surrounded by navigation instruments, engine gauges and a chart table. This area is out of the elements which brings safety and comfort with adverse conditions such as blazing sun or driving rain.

The Bruckmann 50 has two private staterooms, two heads with a large common stall shower, and a huge galley containing all culinary necessities. There is a library/den which could serve as a third stateroom, however, it is complete with a computer desk, built-in TV, and the optional fireplace and bar. These accommodations all may be arranged to the particular requirements of the owner.
