This Tony Grainger designed Chincogan 520 is a luxury performance cruiser ready to cruise the world.  Fully set up for blue water cruising, she features absolute comfort while at sea or at anchor. 

Churakai has two queen size staterooms, one in each hull, plus two additional single bunks in the starboard hull.  This Chincogan's features are too numerous to name in a short paragraph, but include washing machine, well-appointed galley up with a large pantry, excellent head room throughout, bathroom that has a separate shower, comprehensive equipment and plenty of spares.

Builder – Jim McGettigan at the Chincogan factory Hayley Place, Murwillumbah, NSW.

Launched 2002.

LOA – 15.84 Metres. Beam 8.3 metres. Draft 1.5 metres.

Helm location with engine controls – Port side in cockpit, forward of transom. Twin steering positions.

Headroom In hulls – 193 cm. In saloon cabin 195 cm. headroom.

Bridgedeck clearance 90 cm.

Keel type – Retractable foam and fibreglass daggerboards.

Rudders – Twin – fibreglass spade type.

Deck / Coach House Material

Exterior is white polished gelcoat – no paint. Interior is two pack paint – Cream colour with New Guinea Rosewood solid timber trim. Interior floors are laminated African Ash and New Guinea Rosewood with Deks Olje finish.

Rigging

Fractional sloop rig. Good condition. Anodised 6061 grade aluminium IM 30 mast section 65 feet – 20 metre by All Yacht Spars. Anodised 6061 aluminium Selden boom 250/140 23 feet – 6.9 metres. Four (4) Spinlock XX0812 Power Clutch jammers at mast base. Harken mainsheet and genoa track systems. New lines. Additional Spinlock mainsheet jammers fitted to car track on transom in 2009. Deck gear – Andersen winches – Two (2) x Two speed 52 ST at mast base for main halyard, triple reef and topping lift. In cockpit Two (2)x Two speed 62 ST Primary winches and two (2) Two speed 52 ST winches plus one (1) 58 ST Two speed mainsheet winch. All winches are self tailing. Plus 4 stand up blocks, 6 cheek blocks, 6 aluminium horn cleats for mooring.

Furlers – Endless wheel on gennaker and N52 Profurl unit on genoa headsails. Both headsails can be unfurled and furled from the safety of the cockpit using winches. Rigging inspection by rigger Peter Greig, Port Douglas, dated 1/10/2013 is available.

Engines

Twin Yanmar diesels – model 3JH2-TE turbocharged 47 H.P. with Kanzaki gearboxes. Poly Flex polyurethane drive couplings on stainless steel shafts. New shaft seals. Seawater cooling via jacket with coolant. Both impellers replaced Oct. 2013. Number of cylinders – Three (3) each engine. Fuel type – diesel. Starting –electric starter motors. Alternator /Amps – Two (2) 85 amp. engine alternators. Cruise speed with one engine 8 knots. Maximum speed with two engines 10 – 12 knots. Engine hours – Port 3751.3. Starboard 3529.9. Extraction fans in roomy, foam and foil sound deadened engine bays. Lighting in engine bays. Isolation switches on engine start batteries plus parallel switch for engine starting with a dead battery. There are FloScan fuel flow meters on both engines with the gauges below the Morse engine controls at helm station. All new engine mounts were fitted and the turbochargers were overhauled in October 2013.
