HISTORY & DESCRIPTION:

'Blamann' is a traditional Norwegian Rescue Pilot built in 2002 to original Colin Archer plans.  Constructed of Larch and Pine planking fastened to heavy Oak timbers throughout.  Long ballast keel.  Payed laid Pine decks and Oak superstructure.

Gaff Cutter rig sets about 825 sq. ft with eight Canvas Clipper sails.  Keel stepped solid timber masts.  5.5m bowsprit.  Main mast 20m, mizzen 13m, booms 6 and 3.5 m.

215 hp Scania DN 11 six cylinder diesel engine (2001) with about 4,500 hours only.  Approx 10 knots cruising speed, three bladed propeller, two1000 litre fuel tanks.  Nani 5.5kw generator (2006) charging a bank of eleven batteries.

Comfortable, rugged accommodation in keeping with the style of vessel with varnished pine and oak joinery.  Wood Burner and central heating.  Saloon with settees / four berths.  Master Cabin with double berth.  Twin Berth Cabin and Single Berth Cabin, nine berths in all.  Heads Compartment with electric WC, shower and wash basin, pressurised hot water system.  Galley with four burner Eno gas cooker, 24 volt fridge, double sink unit, two 750 litre fresh water tanks, extractor fan and ample crockery and pantry lockers.
