This vessel is owned by an Accredited Marine Surveyor.  "Kailani was purchase in 2005 with the premise of converting it to a small trawler like vessel. She was stripped down to a bare hull and a complete re-fit according to strict ABYC & NFPA rules and recommendations took place over a two year period. The result was a luxurious live-aboard with diesel trawler effeciency!  A brand new Volvo D-=3 160HP engine and composite outdrive were installed. During the refit a powerful solar system was installed as well as a bow thruster, electric windlass, Garmin 2010C plotter/fishfinder, autopilot, flopper stoppers, and an icemaker. Everything other than the hull was replaced!!

A BRAND NEW Volvo Diesel Engine was installed in 2006. The engine is mated to a Volvo XDP Composite Sterndrive with duo-props. The composite construction of the outdrive greatly reduces the effects of electrolysis. Additionally, there is a sterndrive bag to to prevent any growth than may occur.  New hydraulic steering was installed at the same time the new engine was installed. RACOR 500MA2 Fuel/Water Separator was installed as well as a ALGAE-X fufel conditioner. Engine guages are the custom Volvo Penta Multi-Guage with Tach, temp, pressure, fuel level, GPH, trip/log, etc.

One has to see the engineering space to appreciate the professional installation of the engine and associated equipment. Spotless and tidy are words that first come to mind!

All marine grade Anchor wiring was installed in 2006. A new custom electrical AC/DC panel was installed to support all the new systems installed in the vessel.

Start batteries are 2 Optima Blue Top and the House batteries are 2 Lifeline AGM 4Ds

The master stateroom and head is located aft. The master berth is to port and when one is resting, the view is directly through the sliding glass doors and over the transom of the boat. There are several deep sliding drawers beneith the berth. A flatscreen 21" VIZIO HDTV is mounted above the base of the bed as well as a Memorex DVD/CD player.

The Head is located aft and to starboard. A vanity, shower, toilet and linen storage is located within this space. Continuing forward is a settee to port that seat 4 and can convert to a double berth if needed. Opposite and to starboard is the Galley

The Galley runs down the starboard side of the salon. There are custom features throughout and plenty of storage both above and below the countertop. The full size Nova Kool refrigerator/freezer is mounted in such a manner that when opening it everything is eye level. The princess 3 burner stove/oven is pizoelectric ignited for safety and ease of operation. The stove has a custom insert over the burners to increase counterspace when the burners are not in use. Above the stove is a Contoure under counter coffee maker.

The Flybridge on this vessel is huge! Half the flybridge is covered by a custom bimini with roll up eisenglas. Above the helm is a custom zippered "Sunroof" that allows for sun and air circulation. The lounge is L-Shaped and can easily seat 10 people. The cushions have removable Sunbrella covers for sun protectionThere is a removable table that when installed can support enough food for the entire crowd. The entire area is carpeted with astro turf for comfort.

The helm station is centerline with a Todd "Cape May" chair for comfort. The navigation electronics are installed to the left of the helm for easy reading, and the engine instruments are centerline on the dash alongside the autopilot master.

New aluminum windows and sliding rear doors were installed during the refit. There is a Delta 22lb "Fast Set" anchor with 100' of 1/4" chain and 200' of 1/2" rode which is marked every 50'. The secondary (stern) anchor is a 16lb Danforth with 25' of 1/4" chain and 150' of 1/2 rode.

The BBQ is a Large rectangular stainless steel model.

There are custom FLOPPER STOPPER Booms with 1 Magma stainless steel and 5 Davis plastic roll stabilizers.

A very important safety feature is that there are 5 full width bulkheads, resulting in five water-tight compartments. All bulkheads, stringers and reinforcing members are secured to the hull and deck by hand lay-up fiberglass bonding resulting  in an extremely safe, strong and durable vessel.
