BEST 47 CT on the market! Hide Away is a comfortable center cockpit cruising yacht, often likened to a Swan in both performance and appearance. MAJOR refit finished in 2006 Palmer Johnson yard in Racine, Wisconsin. NEW Engine and Transmission, wiring (including panel), plumbing, thu-hulls, SS ports, fuel and holding tanks. The teak decks have been removed and a custom hard dodger has been added. Deck hatches are now 1/4 inch marine grade aluminum, while all the remaining hatches have been re-hardcoated and the lexan replaced. This yacht had many design features added during the refit including: centerline queen berth in the reconfigured aft cabin, along with a separate stand up shower stall, teflon cored "Aeroquip" braided stainless fuel lines, variable fuel tank capacity and much more!! Hide Away represents a rare opportunity to acquire a completey re-fitted, almost new yacht at a great value! |

There is a queen sized V-berth in the forward stateroom, with a custom memory foam mattress, followed by a guest head to port and hanging locker to starboard. The main salon has a U-shaped settee to port and a straight settee to starboard. The table is convertible from an inlaid coffee table for lounging to a dinette table to comfortable evening meals. To starboard of the galley is a cushioned bench, under which is the reverse cycle HVAC, and a large lighted counter/work area with lots of storage drawers. The aft stateroom has a centerline queen berth, with a another custom memory foam mattress (that uses standard queen sized linens), with mirrored head board and brass lamps. To port, in the aft state room is the head with a separate stand-up shower stall. There is a hanging locker to starboard.

The bow and fore deck are capped in stainless for handling the anchors. A new custom hard dodger has been added that features American Marine port lights of tempered safety glass and an opening center window. There is a walk through transom arch that supports the wind generator an radar/GPS on each side, along w/stainless racks for fender storage. The arch is also the dinghy davits. Hide Away is cutter rigged, with no running back stays. The full batten main stores in a custom "stack pack" style cover that can have its lazy jacks eased for putting an awning over the boom. The genoa is on roller furling, while the stay sail is hanked on, has had a reef point added, and stores in a deck bag. All storage canvas is grey Sunbrella.

All mechanicals were replaced, or rebuilt during the refit 2006. The engine room insulation was replaced, along with the addition of fire ports (for viewing and extinguisher access) to each door. The engine room has great access on three sides through five doors, plus from above though a hinged section of counter top. The dish storage and cockpit floor are also removable for further access, if needed.

All electrical systems were also replaced during the refit. When in port Hide Away is fed by two 30A service connections. There is a pre-breaker panel (in a galley cabinet) to isolate the entire boat from the shore power if needed. From there one 30A service feeds the 120V HVAC, 120V side of the water heater, and the 120V side of the fridge/freezer. The other 30A service goes through the inverter/battery charger and feeds the outlet, lights, etc. This way the house batteries are safe from trying to power the HVAC. The engine has two alternators, one charging the house batteries, the other charging the engine starting and windlass batteries. So one circuit can not drag down the other. There is also a Wind Generator (and regulator) to charge the house batteries. Most wiring has been run in flexible conduit for added protection and ease of additions.
