Description
One of the West Coast's premier sailing yachts is for sale. She is built for speed and has competed along the west coast and Mexico, yet has an interior that is lovely and comfortable with seventeen beds for guests and crew plus the owner's stateroom and a galley a gourmet chef would feel at home in. For fun sailing or as a charter vessel, she is ready to go.

Please call in advance for an appointment to view.

Accommodations
The interior shows LP varnished cedar throughout the vessel. Forward is the focs'l sail and hardware and cordage area accessed from a passageway or a ladder to the fordeck. Aft from there are cabins port and starboard with upper/lower bunks. Aft of the forward companionway are the galley and opposite dinnette. Aft from there is the owner's stateroom to starboard and the nav area to port. Aft from there is more storage port and starboard and in steerage area. There is the aft companionway and ladder up to the steering area from the navigation area. There are seventeen bunks for guests and crew, half of which are doubles. In additon, there is an owner's cabin with a large hanging locker, an oversize queen bed, head, shower, lots of storage, TV, CD player and Surround Sound. There are two additional heads and a large shower at the mast area as well as a very sizable hanging locker and lot of storage space throughout the vessel.

Galley
The galley is flanked by a horizontal top loading freezer. Besides holding fresh food it is strategically located to keep the chef in the cooking area when rough seas or heeling could command otherwise. There is an upright refrigerator/freezer, three stainless sinks and a three burner propane stove with oven.

Electronics
There are Icom VHF, SSB and GPS NavLink. There is a Data Marine Offshore Electronics Package that is hardwired to a Swiss GPS computer, as well as to the vessel's computer that is used for the electronic chart system. The computer is a latest high speed Dell unit with a seventeen inch flat NEC high resolution monitor. All electronic talk to each other via NMEA 0183.

Electrical
The electrical needs of the yacht are met by three separate banks of deep cycle batteries (10). One battery bank provides the engine and generator starting power, the second furnishes isolated power supply for the computer and instruments. The third bank services the remaining components and fixtures for the vessel.

A 5 KW Northern Lightrs diesel generator services the 110 V needs. It also powers the computerized charging system for the battery banks. While the yacht is in use, the generator runs full time and is virtually silent. It has dual pack sound insulation and is positioned in the insulated engine room. The generator uses 1/2 gph of fuel and is an inexpensive source of energy.

Deck & Sails
Sails: one 2-ply Mylar full battened mailsail, one Mylar #1 genoa, one 2-ply Mylar #3 genoa, one Mylar 165% reacher, one Mylar 110' asymmetric spinnaker, one Mylar tallboy and one Mylar staysail. All were built by Lidgard in New Zealand. In addition, there are at least ten other assorted spinnakers, as well as a blast reacher and other mainsails and genoas that were purchased from a Japanese America's Cup syndicate. Some of these were hardly used and are excellent.

The mast extends 130' above the water line. It was fabricated from an aluminum extrusion and aircraft riveted the lengths of it. The boom has a fixed clew and moves away from the mast hydraulically to flatten the sail. There are four primary Barient grinder drums that are interconnected by three pedestals. There are nine various other winches. The rod rigging was custom designed by Navtec engineers.

Construction
The yacht's hull was fabricated from 1/8 inch thick cedar laminates. Each layer got epoxy glued ninty degrees to each other and wraps around to include the deck, in essence creating a structure that is a continuous and seamless sheet of wood. Strategic high load areas near the mast bulkhead and the keel are reinforced with carbon fibre between the laminates. There are ten layers of veneer besides the 5/16 inch thick tongue and groove mold that is visible throughout the interior, including the extreme bow and stern, as well as every part of the bilge. The interior mold is epoxy saturated and Linear Polyurethane varnished throughout the yacht. All bulkheads are foam filled, plywood sided and finished with varnished epoxy coated tongue and groove cedar veneer.

The keel was fabricated in the form of a steel jacket fastened over a welded internal structure that is eleven feet tall. The bottom of it was hot poured with thirty thousand pounds of lead and the upper portion of the keel foil serves as a fuel tank holding two hundred gallons of diesel.
