CANDIDA was built by Lydia Boats, Inc. of Ft. Pierce, FL, one the world's finest builders of mid-to-large custom yachts. Lydia yachts are particularly well known for their heavy-duty hulls made from a 5 ½” thick sandwiched fiberglass / AREX core design which provides unparalleled performance in the harsh environment regularly experienced by tournament anglers. CANDIDA was re-powered with twin MTU 12V183 turbo charged engines that develop a total of 2500 hp providing a top end speed of 30 knots and a cruising speed of 26 knots. Wanting the benefit of the Lydia hull and the MTU engines, the owner purchased CANDIDA in late 2003 and commenced a total refit and renovation during the 2004-2006 period. Former Rybovich craftsman were hired to replace every mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system. From the tower down, including the entire bridge and helm areas, cockpit, interior salon, staterooms, and all electronics - literally every square inch of CANDIDA was either replaced or rebuilt. The result is a very unique custom-built “Lydiavich” sportfish yacht having one of the industry’s strongest hulls, the finest engines all combined with exquisite “yacht quality” workmanship throughout. CANDIDA has beautiful lines with large custom teak toe rails and a traditional “flag blue” navy hull with distinctive yellow boot stripe and white super structure (Dupont Imron paint). A fully appointed enclosed air conditioned bridge area and custom “Rybovich” style helm keep you dry and protected from weather and spray and provide outstanding visibility from the centerline helm making her as easy to maneuver offshore as in a crowded marina. The interior is amazing! Every piece of teak was hand-picked and perfectly matched and finished in a high gloss varnish. Teak and holly flooring with light cream-colored baby ostrich wall covering and an off-white colored “Whisper” header was utilized throughout the yacht and provide a luxurious and spacious feeling. Multi-zoned LED lighting with dimmer control panels are found though out the yacht including rope lighting under cabinets and incandescent plunged controlled lighting throughout the closet and inside cabinet areas. The salon features two seating areas, one "L-shaped" sofa to port and another sofa to starboard, both covered in a cream-colored ostrich fabric and all with ample stowage below the hinged seating. An elaborate entertainment center includes a large Sharp AQUOS LCD TV combined with a Bose System 50 surround stereo, Sony DVD / VCR, and wireless / mouse to access CANDIDA’S computer network. A SpeakerCraft multi-zone amplifier controller system combined with three distinct satellite TV receivers and various iPod stations were utilized to provide six separate zones of audio / video on any of the five LCD TVs found within the yacht. The galley is located to the starboard and is spacious and accommodating with beautifully crafted and matched teak cabinets and “jaguar” granite counter tops and teak keepers. Appliances include a four-burner electric range top, twin refrigerators, large stainless sink, disposal, and trash compactor. Step down under the hand-crafted compass rose into the lower level where the staterooms are located. CANDIDA comfortably sleeps six with its three stateroom / two head arrangement. The owner's stateroom and head are to the starboard, the VIP stateroom and guest head are forward, and the guest cabin is to the port. The owner's stateroom is most impressive with custom teak cabinetry. Included are a large queen-size berth with stowage below, full-size cedar-lined hanging locker and mirrored va |
