Description/Condition

This De Groot 40 steel Flybridge Motor Cruiser has been designed as a “liveaboard” with lots of specially designed storage space and thus is well suited for this purpose. The De Groot 40 also enjoys a reputation for their excellent sea keeping qualities. The De Groot 40 is not only a “liveaboard”, but a series comfortable passage maker.   This motor cruiser has crusied the Norfolk Broads, Medway, River Thames,Solent and South Coast.

This Flybridge Motor Cruiser has been owned by the current owner for approx. 6 1/2 years during which time it has been fully refurbished. It is being offered for sale at a very competitive price to sell quickly.  If you are looking for a steel Flybridge Motor Cruiser then an early viewing is highly recommended.  A copy of the previous surveys and hull inspections are available upon request.

Accommodation

This 40ft De Groot flybridge motor cruiser has a self-contained forward cabin which has been fitted out with double berth, which can also be used as 2 single berths, dressing table unit, wardrobe and en-suite heads with electric marine toilet and sink. 

Aft of the forward cabin is a large galley which has been extremely well appointed with Isotherm full standing fridge, Frigoboat 12v water cooled freezer, 2 stainless steel sinks with pressurised hot and cold water, a nature-pure water purifier system, built in drainer, 4 burner gas hob with oven and grill, extractor fan, large amount of work surface and storage. It has just been finished with new teak panels, ceilings and floors.  Opposite the galley to port is a large table with blue suede settes around that can comfortably seat 6 people. The saloon table can be dropped to make a double berth.

The short stairs lead up to the saloon/wheel house area. This has again been fitted out to a very high standard. The saloon has new taupe tweed polyster upholstery and teak internal floors. New brown curtains have been fitted in the saloon which has a real cosy feel which is enhanced by the Webasto diesel cabin heating that runs throughout the cruiser.  This cruiser has over 6ft headroom throughout.

Aft of the saloon you go down to the aft cabin which has a very spacious double berth with en-suite heads with  marine toilet, sink and shower with hot and cold pressurised water. Lots of storage space including a walk in wardrobe.

The flybridge is very spacious with leather central helm position and has a purposes built locker that will house a washer and a dryer. The decks are very clear with the facility to walk all-round in complete safety.  The deck has been covered with synthetic teak which complements the dark blue painted hull.  



Mechanical Systems

Located in the centre of the saloon/wheel house in an purpose built engine room are two BMC 80HP naturally aspirated 4 cylinder diesel engines that look like new and are economical. The engines have been serviced annually and were last serviced in March 2012 have been hardly used since. The engine room has a ventilation and extraction system fitted.The engines are coupled to the shafts which lead to bronze 3 blade bronze props. Sea water cooled. Dual cable lever controls with electric start with flybridge controls. 2 x 600 litre fuel tanks.  The vessel will cruise at 10 knots and has a maximum speed of 12 knots.



Electrical Systems

4 x 12v batteries (new 2010) charging from alternator, battery charger via 240V shore power system and a Suntoon 3000T 3KVA diesel generator. Generator was last serviced in March 2012

Construction

This De Groot 40ft motor cruiser is of steel construction with curved raked stern, chin hull design.  The topsides have been painted ivory with an upper chime. The decks have non-skid synthetic teak areas. New rudders and stainless steel shafts fitted in 2011 with PSS seals, glands repacked in 2011. The Hull was epoxied in 2006. This motor yacht has been fitted with 3 houdini hatches.

There are copies of the 2006 pre-purchase survey and 2009 hull survey with all recommendations having been completed available upon request.
