This large sailing yacht is at the midway-completion point, thus giving the new owner a much quicker "time till possession", yet still leaving enough time to finalize the custom layout and plan the cruise to be undertaken after delivery.  

Designed by the world renown yacht design team 'Dubois Yacht Designs' the D-85 fast cruising sloop achieves the strength essential in a fast offshore cruising yacht. The boat is designed for extending offshore cruising to any location worldwide. The hull, deck and structure is built with ABS and Lloyds approved materials under ABS supervision and approval. The hull is easily driven with an option of deep or shallow draft ballast keels. Sails are easily handled by powerful push button, hydraulic winches. Wide teak decks are offered as standard.

The D-85’ is purely and simply a high performance ocean-going cruising yacht designed to roll off 250 to 350 mile days under power or sail repeatedly, with the volume to carry all the equipment necessary for extended world-wide cruising.

The D-85’ was originally conceived as a traditional layout, but client inquiries have allowed us to plan for various scenarios for her use, as a private yacht, a full on charter yacht, or an owner’s yacht with ‘occasional charter’ use. 

The volume of the yacht can be arranged to accommodate up to 10 guests in 5 staterooms, which may prove suitable for charter. Almost any variety of owner’s versions could feature luxurious accommodations, including breakfast bar, day head, separate dining and lounge areas.

Keel design can be selected to optimize upwind performance or to allow for the compromises needed for shallow draft cruising, or something in between.  There have also been in-house discussions with clients for a ketch version as well as a lifting keel version. Cooker : Force 10 Gas propane cooker with stainless steel gimbals. Cooker complete with SS fiddle rails, 3 rings and oven with glass door.

Stainless Steel Sink : Double stainless steel sinks with middle waste to be installed. Lewis Marine or SL 

Galley Sink Faucet : Mixer taps Hot & Cold freshwater supply, cold fitted with aquapure drinking water filter.

Seawater manual rocker pump (Aquafax 942465 or similar) taking water from main suction manifold in the engineroom via Hep2o pipe 15mm through inlet strainer and shut off valve.

Fridge :  3" insulation allowed for on all sides. Total capacity: 7.8 cu ft

The system will be a holding plate type with own temperature control.
