New Jersey-based Egg Harbor Yachts stands behind its company slogan: Designed by fishermen, for fishermen. The company is owned by Dr. Ira M. Trocki who, prior to purchasing the assets of Egg Harbor Yachts, had bought a 58-footer. He enjoyed fishing and cruising the boat so much he decided he wanted the company, too.
Today, Egg Harbor has four models in its line, each tailored for the specific needs of serious offshore anglers. Three Sport Yacht models (50, 43 and 37) are convertible in style but each features a flybridge that is exceptionally roomy. Egg Harbor also builds the Predator 35, a smaller, lighter and more nimble model that’s built for faster runs offshore, although with accommodations for two to four people it can be used as an overnighter, too. All Egg Harbor boats are engineered with a robust fuel capacity to satisfy an angler’s need to travel long distances.
The Egg Harbor's 50 SportYacht promises the competition a serious run for the money. Built on the next generation of classic hull design, the tournament-ready 50's raised sheer line and generous freeboard provide an extremely soft, dry ride while delivering unparalleled performance. Power options include twin Caterpillars C-12 (700HP each), Series 60 (825 HP each) or Caterpillars C-18 (1000HP each) high performance engines. Egg Harbor's advanced technology; engineering and design produced the lightweight, composite construction that offers one of the longest ranges of any 50-foot sportfishing yacht in the world. The 50's roomy flybridge, a key distinguishing SportYacht characteristic, rivals those found on much larger yachts. She is an example of design integrity maximizing function. Fore and aft overhangs expand the useable space up top while streamlining the overall profile. The largest in its class, the cantilevered bridge shelters the cockpit while a starboard opening offers safer, easier topside access. The amidships helm provides excellent visibility in all directions. A wealth of cockpit features including a complete bait prep center with tackle drawers; sink, cutting board and freezer are standard on the 50 SportYacht. Also standard is the large lift-out fish box with macerator, live well with recalculating pump, a large transom door, and four flush-mounted rod holders.
The 50 SportYacht is designed to balance the needs of the serious sportfisher with comforts of a luxury yacht. The interior reflects Egg Harbor's time-honored craftsmanship and attention to detail. With three spacious staterooms and two complete heads, the 50 affords ultimate comfort in long-range competitions.
Egg Harbor Yacht Company uses a semi-custom, flexible manufacturing process to precision-build limited numbers of luxury yachts ranging in length from 37 to 50 feet. All Egg Harbor yachts are backed by a five-year hull warranty.
