You Can AcquireThis Elegant Piece of History!
This stoutly built slice of history has been almost fully and elegantly restored to a high level of cruising or liveaboard comfort.
Known as the FP-47 during WWII, this vessel was outfitted by the U.S. Army in Australia with the latest technology available in radio, short wave and teletype at the time. It was able to handle ship to ship, ship to shore and direct to the USA radio traffic on a high volume basis. The communications between ship based commanders and land based troops was crucial to the success of the invasion of the Philippines.
Much history of the FP-47 is available on the Internet and in Army CP ship archives.
Now know as the CAPE JAMES, this vessel has been mostly restored with fine furnishing and fixtures. The restoration has been lovingly done but has not been finished due to a family loss, which is the only reason this vessel has come up for sale.
You can live aboard or use it as a pleasure yacht.
