Description
JUST REDUCED. 1986 Grand Banks 42 Europa-Great fuel economy, Twin 135 Lehmans–Stabilizers-Custom interior-updated electronics, sub-systems-excellent condition-loaded extras. Owner returned 03 April from six-month round-trip cruise from Annapolis to Florida’s Gulf Coast. All systems go.
Master Stateroom
Separately air conditioned (a/c 2011)located forward and features a queen center-line berth, large hanging locker, vanity table, bench and storage below. Storage lockers and drawers on both sides of berth. Three tiered drawers at the foot of the berth include one full-width drawer suitable for charts, chart books. Custom innerspring mattress, matching pillows and shams.
Head
Granite counter top. Raritan Marine Elegance push-button controlled head feeding a US Coast Guard approved Type 1 Raritan ElectraScan unit (2012). Treated waste directed overside (default setting), or to the holding tank.
Second cabin
Dedicated air conditioning unit. 3/4 berth (stbd), single berth (port). Adjoining toiletries space forward, including cabinets, a basin w/ hot and cold running water, and fittings for a 2nd head. Alternatively this cabin ideal for storage of spares and supplies adequate to support many months of extended cruising.
Salon
Long settee to port. Salon settee accommodates a queen size user-assembled guest bed arrangement. Teak parquet soles for entire vessel, elegant teak interiors. All new upholstery (2009). Pioneer stereo (top quality speakers, Salon and Flybridge); PowerMax amplifier for cell phone signal booster system. Forward to stbd is a dry bar (with storage for glassware and bottles), and a U-Line freezer/icemaker (re-built 2005). Custom anti-sun glare screens on all windows.
Galley
Port, fwd. Grunert Baysider refrigerator/freezer, Bosch convection microwave (2013), GE 2-burner electric ceramic top unit (2013). Hot and cold fresh water (ParMax pump 2013). Vent fan. Stainless steel sink, custom built-in teak wineglass holder.
Helms
Fwd,stbd, custom teak ship’s wheel, door adjoining for direct access to stbd deck. Instruments on console, and in bulkhead forward. Instrumentation for both helms include a Garmin 2010c chart plotter with chart maps, and SimRad auto-pilot and depth/speed.
Flying Bridge.
Upper helm is stbd, forward. Helm and mate’s seat raised to assure visibility. All seats w/ canvas covers (2012). Extended Bimini (2013). The bridge deck is teak (recaulked, refastened, and refinished 2012). Wing decks: non-skid fiberglass (rebuilt 2012). The mast and tender are located aft on the bridge deck. Tender motor is a 4-stroke 2.5 HP Suzuki (2012).
External
Hull is traditional Grand Banks semi-displacement. Underwater surfaces rebuilt (2011): peeled by 0.22 inches, two new layers of fiberglass applied with 50 mils of vinylester resin (8 year warranty against blistering), and gel coated. All brightwork (transom, bulwark caps, hand rails, eyebrow, cabin doors, fly bridge ladder, flybridge instrument frames, etc) were stripped and given 10 coats of Epiphanes varnish (2011). All exposed brightwork has fitted canvas covers (2011). All decks are laid teak; aft deck, wrap around side decks, and the fore deck, which was refastened and recaulked (2012). Shore power connections bow and stern. TV and telephone jacks forward. Teak deck furniture.
Ground tackle
Lofrans Tigris two-sided windlass,local and remote up/down powered controls. Main anchor: 45 lb CQR with 250’ of 3/8” chain (new, 2011). Second bow anchor: 45 lb Delta plow, with 200’ of rode. Raw-water anchor wash-down, driven by a self-priming pressure shut-off pump (2010).
Machinery
Twin 135hp Ford Lehman Diesels, 3800 hours (life expentancy 10,000)(using 5 gal/hour at 8 knots cruising speed), Racor dual fuel filters, vacuum guages.
Koop Nautic SeaRocq stabilizers (factory Installed).
Tankage
Fuel: 2 x 300 gal
Water: 2 x 135 gal
Holding: 1 x 40 gal
