Description/Condition

One of the latest generation of Germán Frers cruising yachts offering well-mannered cruising characteristics with passage-making performance. This Hallberg-Rassy 43 has been fitted out to the highest standard and is in turnkey condition and ready for extended cruising.




Accommodation

All interior woodwork in light mahogany matt silk finish.  Floor in varnished teak with inlaid holly stripes.  Saloon ceiling has panelling with mahogany stripes and ceilings in remainder of boat have ivory headlining.  Sprung mattresses in aft cabin.   All berths rest on unvarnished, well ventilated boards to avoid condensation.  Hand holds throughout the boat.  The boat is carpeted throughout, except directly in front of the galley.  All portholes are fitted with curtains.  Upholstery in blue, carpet in grey, beige curtains.  Four Hella turbo fans fitted.  Lee cloths fitted to both saloon berths.  Webasto 5kW cabin heater with outlets throughout the boat.

SALOON:
On the port side is an L-shaped settee with hinged backrest & stowage behind.  Infill board with cushion to make wide double berth.  On starboard side is a straight settee with hinged backrest.  Dropleaf table with bottle stowage in centre section.  Headroom in saloon 1.96m/6’5’’.  Sony stereo/CD player with speakers in main saloon and in cockpit.  Ship's clock, barometer and humidity meter.

GALLEY:
Working surface in white laminate with all round fiddle rail.  Insulated icebox with water cooled 12v compressor.  Freezer compartment with separate compressor located bhind navigator's seat.  Double sink with Seagull water purifier and separate faucet.  Cover for galley sink.  2 burner gas cooker with oven, gimballed with fiddle rails.  Crockery locker and cutlery drawer.  Bread board.  Room for saucepans and other kitchen utensils.  Electrolux 230v Microwave oven.

FORWARD HEADS COMPARTMENT:
Bulkheads and lockers in white laminate.  Teak grating, china wash basin and large mirror.  Separate shower with watertight shower stall, plexi glass doors.  12v shower waste pump.  Manual Jabsco sea toilet.  Stainless steel holding tank, emptied by gravity or deck pump out.   Cupboard above and below washbasin.  Ventilation through opening porthole and hatch.  Kenny washing machine 230v.

FWD CABIN:
Two 2.13m/7’ long berths with stowage above and below and in addition a number of lockers.  A ceiling hatch and opening porthole for ventilation.

CHART TABLE & WALKTHROUGH:
Seat with spacious chart table.  Shelf above with space for mounting instruments.  Electric switch panel to the left of the navigator.  5 drawers and stowage slots.   Access to the engine room off the walkthrough.  On portside there is a wet locker and various cupboards, including top-loading freezer compartment.

AFT CABIN:
Aft cabin has a hanging locker on portside and two comfortable berths, both 2m / 6’7’’ long.  Stowage room below and above.  Mirror.  Seat between the berths.

AFT HEADS COMPARTMENT:
Bulkheads and lockers in white laminate.  Teak grating, china wash basin and mirror.  Separate shower with watertight shower stall, plexi glass doors.  12v shower waste pump.  Manual Jabsco sea toilet.  Stainless steel holding tank, emptied by gravity or deck pump out.  Cupboard above and below washbasin.  Ventilation through opening window.



Mechanical Systems

Volvo Penta D2-55 55hp 4 cylinder fresh water cooled diesel engine.  Engine hours 1725 in Octber 2012.  Hydraulic transmission with Python Drive double ended constant-velocity drive shaft.  Gori 3 bladed folding propeller, 2 geared, left-handed.  Ambassador 3-bladed rope cutter.  Numerous engine spares including replacement alternator, Gori propeller, bilge, shower and water pump.

BOWTHRUSTER: Sleipner SidePower 8HP bowthruster with footswitches at steering position.

DC ELECTRICITY: 2 separate battery banks, 1 for services, 1 for engine start.  New AGM domestic batteries May 2012, new wet engine start battery winter 2011/12.  Link switch to parallel both banks.  Both are charged by 60A engine-driven alternator.  Additional 90A alternator fitted during 2005-2006 refit.  Electrical switch panel at chart table with circuit breakers, voltmeter and gauges for water & fuel.  Mobitronic battery management systems.

WIND GENERATOR: Aerogen 5A wind generator fitted on pole on aft deck

AC ELECTRICITY: 230v shore power system, ring main, immersion heater, Mastervolt 40A IVO Smart battery charger, Mass Sine 1200w inverter.  Additional backup Mastervolt 12v 80A battery charger with changeover switch.

FUEL: 400 litres diesel fuel in stainless steel tank located under floor in main saloon.  Algaex electronic/magnetic fuel conditioner in main fuel line.

WATER: 650 litres fresh water in 2 tanks, one under floor in main saloon (420 l) and one  under settee (230 l).

WATERMAKER: Spectra Catalina deluxe watermaker fitted during 2006/7 refit.



Generator

Mastervolt 3.5kW in sound cocoon with separator exhaust sited in noise insulated engine room.  Generator hours 455 in October 2012.



Spars & Rigging

Double spreader rig by Selden.  Selden Furlinmast in-mast furling sytem with mast control.  Genoa furling and reefing system by Selden Furlex.  Selden rodkicker with gas spring.  Spinnaker track and pole with topping lift on mast.  Spinnaker halyard.  Navtec A370-LE 17 backstay tensioner.  Insulated backstay.  Cutterstay including halyard, sheets, runners & extra cars.  Turnbuckles from Hasselfors, aluminium protection tubes from Selden.  Blocks & winches from Lewmar.  Combined tricolour/anchor light at masthead.  Masthead burgee staff.

Deck Equipment

Deck, coachroof, toerail, cockpit seats, cockpit floor and side trims in top quality teak laid in silicon rubber.  Teak hand rails full length of superstructure.  Stemhead fitting with twin anchor rollers.  Samson post on foredeck.  Lewmar Ocean electric windlass.  25kg Delta anchor with 90m 10mm chain.  45lb second anchor.  25lb kedge anchor with 40m warp.  Stowage in anchor locker for fenders.  Six stainless steel cleats forward, aft and midships, brass strips to all cleats.   Double stainless steel guardwires.   Opening gates port and starboard.  Granny bars at mast.  Teak pushpit seats.  Outboard bracket.  Deck inlets for water and diesel tanks.  Genoa and mainsheet tracks with blocks.  Genoa cars adjustable from the cockpit.  Selftailing genoa winches, size 54 CST, two mainsheet winches, size 40 CST.  Hatches, windows, blocks and winches by Lewmar.  Hatches in foredeck, toilet compartment, saloon and in aft cabin.  13 aluminium framed port holes, 12 of these are opening.  Stowage in aft deck lazarette locker.  Separate gas locker on starboard side with stowage for two 6kg gas cylinders.  Bathing platform with shower at transom.  Fully shaped winter cover by Parker and Kay.  Overall cover from bow to stern.  Davits.  Cockpit cushions.  Custom folding passerelle and bow ladder.

COCKPIT:
Cockpit locker with storage slots for wash boards.  Wheel steering with single lever engine control.  High gloss varnished teak folding cockpit table.  Engine start panel in the steering pedestal.  Alcove in stb side of the cockpit coaming.  Windscreen with opening centre section and sprayhood (2012) over front part of cockpit.  Sprayhood extension to cover entire cockpit.  Bimini.  Aft awning from bimini to stern.  Wheel and binnacle cover.  High gloss varnished outer chart tables.  2 x 12v sockets.  Tailored cover to protect bridge and companionway varnish.  Exterior chart table night light.
