Description/Condition

Asking price is well below her recent survey value!!! Seller says "gotta let her go, I've been assigned a new  station."

SABBATICAL is fully outfitted for cruising, she is truly a turn key bluewater cruiser. She is ready to take you to your dream location cruising grounds or around the world. She had over 60K of electronics, gel batteries  and other upgrades installed the summer of 2009. She is loaded with extra cruising gear. Her interior electrical wiring has been completely professionally rewired and is a work of art behind the electrical panel. We believe she was re-powered in the late 90's with the Yanmar 3QM30F, due to her service records. The engine has been impeccably maintained, most recent service July 2014 including a new alternator and exhaust elbow.

2012 upgrades include a new Espar Hydronic heater system that is plumbed to the hot water tank and has three blower units throughout the boat.  New refrigeration, evaporator and condenser Vitrifrigo System. She was recently freshly varnished, hull cleaned, exterior buff and wax in preparation for her new owner. She has been beautifully maintained.

Her owner who works for the USCG is moving out of the area and regretfully places this beautiful example of a Hans Christian 33 for sale. Current survey is available to view.

Designed by Harwood Ives, Sabbatical was built in 1984 at the Hansa Yachts Und Shifbau, a new yard, at that time, located in Taiwan with state of the art facilities. The Hans Christian 33 is the smallest in the family of sturdy double-enders offered by Hans Christian Yachts. Like all boats from the Hans Christian line of that era, the HC33 is a heavy displacement double-ender, solid and seaworthy. She oozes the traditional feel with extensive use of teak inside and out.She was one of the more innovative boats at her introduction with an internal layout utilizing every nook and cranny that even today has yet to be surpassed.

The Hans Christian 33T will often evoke the comment from admirers, " Now that is a bluewater cruiser".
