Description/Condition

THIS IS A NEW ORDER YACHT, AND PRICES MAY VARY WITH TYPE OF EQUIPMENT:

Hans Christian Yachts are renowned for their seaworthiness, luxury accommodations, workmanship and attention to detail that combine to provide a vessel that you can be proud of and one which will take you in comfort and safety wherever you wish to sail. For 27 years this model has been tested in all conditions that can be found at sea, and survived them all. Why not stay with world class proven performance?  These vessels are built at Pantwee Marine’s yard in Thailand under the expert control of New Zealand a master shipwright from the salthouse school of New Zealand. Buyers are encouraged to visit the yard, during construction, and experience the charms of Thailand during the custom build process.

This new boat specification sheet has used prior built Christina 43's. Since there were no photos taken during the new builds that are available now, I decided to show yachts that are now sailing and being used. The C 43's here in have all cruised some near, some far, but all have been in most all conditions that the ocean we love can have when Nepture has a bad day. These yachts give you an idea of how others have added various options to their yachts and this will allow you to see what has worked in the past. Certainly we live in a era that comes up with new accouterments, electronics, and on and on. but the true cruisers try to keep it simple as possible, while enjoying the state of the art items that make the cruising live a bit more comfortable.

What to expect from a C 43 ?    A stiff vessel with good righting moments. This is due to the quick turn of the bilges that hold a hard shoulder to leeward to resist heeling moments.  A manageable rig with the ability to add special items such as furling booms, electric winches, custom built sails, special head systems, and all  that a semi-custom builder has to offer. You will find a very modern underbody with long cord fin qnd under balance rudder with a breakaway section on q half skeg. You will never be rudderless if you hit any object with the force to rip a skeg hung or spade rudder off, or damage it to the point it is not usable. You can expect the finest joinerwork that Asian master carpenters can offer.. You will find comfort in the variation of models that range from the three double cabins, to the two head model with additional storage aft, or a custom workshop can also be done by the elimination of one cabin from the three cabin model. The variety of different facets of these yachts is astounding.  Although the prices of new build yachts have gone up a great deal, due to the cost of materials and labor, these yachts are still a great value. The builders have a life time of ability in fiberglass reinforced plastic construction. Pantawee Marine Company Ltd (PML) is the highest quality yard in Thailand, and is a family run operation. Jack and his wife Jum are a great team and have built a busy and profitable yard. Jack is an expat from New Zealand who learned his trade from the famous Salthouse school of boat building. His knowledge of yacht building is incredible. There is much to think about and plan when you take on a project such as this, and it is both exciting and satisfying to be able to get a yacht that is practical for your way of life. The use of teak can be altered to meet your desires. The weather decks, side sheer teak, and other teak can be replaced at lower cost factors. We will not alter any yacht in a fashion that would sacrifice the safety of the yacht, such as specific bulkheads that are critical to the structure of the yacht, but we can work with the cubi

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

THE HANS CHRISTIAN “43 Christina” Contempory. CONSTRUCTION The hull and deck are hand laid up in accordance with approved laminates and procedures. The standard hull and deck colour is white (ref. LR #8981). In the hull a combination of woven roving and chopped strand mat are used with thickness increasing towards the keel. There is a reinforcing balsa core in the topsides which stops at six inches above the waterline. Vinylester resin is used for the initial layers below the waterline. The ballast keel is encapsulated entirely within the hull molding. The deck molding has a PVC foam and/or balsa core which is replaced with plywood in high stress areas where fittings are attached. A two part epoxy barrier coat paint is applied below the boot-top for extra anti-osmosis protection.

RUDDER

The rudder is molded GRP with a stainless steel stock. The lower bearing is a cast bronze item. The rudder post is machined to accept cable steering fittings as standard (hydraulic steering available as an option) and a custom emergency tiller is provided.

COCKPIT

The cockpit is integral with the deck molding. There are cockpit lockers to port and starboard with a further two lockers under the helm seat. The port locker is reserved for propane gas tank stowage. The cockpit has teak inlay to the seats as standard with the Builder: Pantawee Marine Ltd,
