With her burgundy coloured hull this Hanse 400 turns heads whether she is out sailing or berthed in the marina. This 2009 specification Hanse 400 offers six berths in three cabins with an owners cabin forward and two double cabins aft. There is a maximum of 2 metres headroom in the saloon.

Forward cabin has a large double berth with good shelf storage as well as space beneath the berth and two large double hanging lockers. Aft of the forward cabin is a light and airy saloon. The saloon has a U-shaped settee to starboard with a large table and opposite to Port a table and two single seats that can double as an additional table or charttable.  The saloon has lots of storage space below the settees and in cupboards above. The L shaped galley is to starboard behind the U-shaped saloon settee. It has white Corian style work surfaces with, double stainless steel sinks with hot and cold pressurised water from the engine and 240V immersion heater, a two burner gas cooker with oven, large 12v fridge with freezer box and lots of storage space.

There is a good sized chart table to Port with panel for instruments and lots of storage space. Aft of the chart table is a large Head with walk in shower, washbasin and separate sea-toilet with a 30l holding tank. The saloon has a very light airy feel to it, but at the same time feeling very cosy which is enhanced by the Webasto diesel cabin heating with 4 outlets. The aft cabins both have good sized double berths with hanging lockers, shelves and also storage under the berth.

The cockpit is spacious with lockers on both sides and easy access to the transom seat making easy to step on and off of the pontoon.

Spars & Sails

The Hanse 400 is a factional Bermudan rigged sloop with a Sparcraft aluminium deck stepped mast with Ronstan ball bearing cars and boom. Twin spreaders with cap shrouds and lower shrouds and twin adjustable backstay. Stainless steel standing rigging. Terylene running rigging, replaced as required, led aft to cockpit where there are 6 jammers.    100% battened mainsail with 2 reefs and stackpack system. Furling self-tacking jib with Facnor furling system.. Spinnaker pole.

Located under companionway steps in vented and sound proofed compartment Yanmar 3JH4 40hp four cylinder diesel engine with electric start and reduction gearbox with reverse to saildrive with 3 blade folding Brunton Autoprop. Single lever engine controls. Engine has 521 hours and had its last full service in 2012. 140 litre stainless steel fuel tank. Cruising speed of 6.5 knots with a maximum of 7.5 knots.

This Hanse 400 was built in December 2008 to the new 2009 model specification by Hanse Yachts to a design by Judel/Vrolijk & Co.. Burgundy GRP hull with white style stripes. White GRP raised coach roof with full teak decks. Cast iron keel. Self-draining cockpit and anchor well. Alloy toe rails. Alloy rails and steel guard wires. Spade hung rudder. Hull has just been polished and antifouled March 2014.Owner is selling due to moving up to a larger yacht.
