One of the more recent names in the volume European boatbuilding world, Hanse was a relatively small company until it was bought by Michael Schmidt in the late 1990s. Subsequent rapid growth has seen it become one of the biggest forces in the market for mainstream cruising yachts, producing affordable boats with plenty of space relative to their overall length.
The company now produces boats from 32 to 63 feet and has built a reputation for style, value for money and bringing Germanic precision to high-volume boatbuilding. Hanse has also expanded outside of its core market through acquisition of smaller boatbuilders including Dehler and Moody, as well as the Fjord motor yacht brand.
