Description/Condition

This is a very good example of this very popular Harborough Marine Hazyard steel canal and sea going barge which has been slightly modified. The boat has just been fully refurbished both externally and internally to a good standard. The barge benefits from a recent survey and has a current British Waterways Safety Certificate.

This vessel has all that you need to live aboard, hot water, log fire, gas cooker, microwave, fridge, solar panel and generator.

This vessel has a cosy feel to it and would make an impressive barge to use on the sea, along the canals or as a house boat in central London. It has a cursing speed of 7 knots.

An early viewing is highly recommended.

Viewing by appointment through our Kent Office at Gillingham Marina.

Please call 01634 571605.

Accommodation

This 50ft barge has a small aft deck which leads into a good size wheel house with seating and navigation area with good all-round viability.  The companionway steps lead you down to a large open plan saloon/galley.

The barge has just been finished with new wood panels, ceilings and floors.  New blinds have been fitted in the saloon which has a real cosy feel with a traditional log burning fire.  The L shape galley has all that you need including, fridge, gas cooker with oven and grill, microwave and pressurised hot and cold water. Crockery and Cutlery is included. The saloon has a range of fitted lounge furniture and seats with beige upholstery. The boat has 6ft headroom throughout.

Forward there is a large heads with sink, marine toilet with holding tank and full size shower with pressurised hot and cold water.

Forward of the heads is a large cabin, currently with two single beds, hanging wardrobe space and other storage space.

The forward deck area has a large storage locker which houses the generator.

Mechanical Systems

Located in the centre below the aft cockpit is a four cylinder Mazda Turbo Diesel engine 135HP (circa 1999) which is in immaculate condition. Engine has approx 3000 hours and was last serviced in 2010 and has been hardly used since. Sea water cooled. Single lever controls with electric start. Shaft drive to a 3 bladed bronze prop.  1 x large stainless steel fuel tank.  The vessel will cruise at 7 knots and has a maximum speed of 8 knots

Construction

The hull of this Harborough Marine Barge was built in approx 1983. The launch has been fitted out over a long period of time and the engine was fitted in 1999. As far as we can tell the vessel has been used on the Scottish Locks and Canals.

The vessel was acquired by current owner approximately 12 months ago and has been completely refurbished to a good standard. The hull was stripped back and refurbished where required. It has then been painted black.

The interior of the vessel has been completely gutted and refurbished to a good standard. The majority of the work has been completed by professional trades for the current owner.

This vessel has been inspected by Clarke and Carter and the photos taken by our team. The barge is antifouled and is ready to use. It holds a current British Waterways Safety Certificate and a recent survey following refurbishment is available upon request.
