Description/Condition

A powerful and robustly constructed steel cruising yacht, the Hedoniste 44 is a well proven design. A round bilged, heavy displacement hull with keel hung rudder, this is an ideal liveaboard world girdler, a proper little ship. In her current ownership he has undergone a thorough refit and refurbishment at coinsiderable expense and is now ready for further adventures.

Accommodation

The layout offers up to eight berths in four cabins.  There is standing headroom, excellent stowage and good ventilation throughout with opening hatches and fans in all cabins.  In the forecabin, large V berth with infill.  Large heads compartment with Blake Victory marine toilet (recently refurbished), shower and washbasin.  Holding tank.  Cabin to port with double berth, drawers under and hanging locker.  Galley to port.  Force Ten two burner gimballed gas cooker with grill and oven.  Twin stainless steel sinks.  Hot and cold pressurised water.  416 litres freshwater capacity.  Large fridge freezer.  Double cabin opposite with twin berths.  Hanging locker and opening hatch to deck.  Steps up to pilot house.  Chart table to starboard at forward end.  Dinette to port.  Large fixed table with drop leaf.  Settee opposite with pilot berth outboard.

Ketch rigged with boomed staysail.  Anodised aluminium masts and booms.  Stainless steel standing rigging (2004).  Insulated backstay.  Terylene and Dyneema running rigging (continually renewed as required).  Slab reefing mainsail.  Headsail furling system.  Second forestay for hank-on sails.  Trysail track on mainmast.  Twin jib poles with mast stowage.  Two Lewmar 46 self tailing primary winches.  Lewmar 40 main halyard winch.  Two Lewmar 30 halyard winches.  Gibb reefing and outhaul winches.  Lewmar 16 self tailing mainsheet winch.  Lewmar mizzen halyard and reefing winches.

Electric start.  Freshwater cooled via heat exchanger.  Shaft drive to three bladed propeller.  Shaft fitted rope cutter.  2600 hours running time.  Single lever control.  650 litres fuel capacity in twin tanks giving approximately 650 miles range at 7 knots cruising speed.  Maximum speed under power 8 knots.  Vetus bow thruster.  The engine was fully reconditioned in 1991 and has recently been serviced and winterised by Shotley marina.
