Description/Condition

Cruising World's "boat of the year" at its introduction - and for good reason: Simple to sail yet great performance; large cockpit absent clutter due to Hunter's trademark mainsheet arch, a bright open-feeling salon below (including innovative wrap-around seating to accomodate a party!), gourmet galley, conveniently-located at-companionway head, and TWO staterooms. This one abounds with custom additions for cruising convenience:  a huge complete cockpit enclosure with multiple exterior grab-rails, a "back-porch" extending over the swim-platform, additional custom storage-solutions thru-out.  Fast under power!  A thouroughly-outfitted NorthWest cruiser, ready for your next vacation adventure.

Walkthru

Set up for NorthWest cruising, this Hunter's cockpit enclosure extends right out to the gunwale aft of the arch, but with big opening panels angled inward to go forward along the side-decks --  firmly anchored to Hunter's cockpit/mainsheet arch, this "extra room" provides the maximum possible sheltered space, yet has great visibility out thru all the isinglass.  Plenty of cockpit seating -- there's two double-wide seats up high and well-aft (integrated into the pushpit) plus the more typical bench-seating around the pedestal.  Helmseat is elevated more than Hunter-standard, especially to see over the instrument-pods on-pedestal -- an easily-removed structure of StarBoard raises the extra-tall contoured BottomSider cushion high over the pass-thru to the transom.   The Edson pedestal sports a folding-rim Lewmar wheel, so it's easy when dining outside to pass aft alongside the helm.

Passing over the safety of a seat-high bridgedeck, down the companionway stairs (note custom washboard storage rack at first step) brings you directly into the galley area; the door to the two-compartment head is directly to port, also at the base of these stairs. Vanity-sink compartment is partitioned from the adjacent shower/toilet compartment by a hiding pull-out rollup vinyl door - then aft thru a solid door into the master stateroom.  Athwartship true queen berth still leaves space for a storage locker at the foot of the bed, and a headboard with yet more shelving at the opposite end.  Custom basketry-bins in stacking shelves take the place of Hunter's standard dressing seats, and there's two tall hanging lockers with a shelf atop, adjacent to each door out.  Passing thru the starboard-side door, we've made a full circle around the engine-compartment and the stairs - now in the L-shaped galley.

Corian countertops either side of the Force-10 sealed-top stove with oven have one top-entry at the bend of the "L", where a deep garbage bin hides.  The leg extending more than halfway across the salon includes a highly-polished deep double-bin SSTL sink, and a good-sized under-counter front-opening fridge... complemented by a separate (only slightly smaller) front-opening freezer just aft of the stove. Hullside cabinets above the counter include one section with paned-glass doors, that is a fan-forced drying cabinet, fitted to hold the included Hunter dish-set.   Another custom touch is the over-sink glass-rack, with each (safe plastic) drink glass held in-place on its own peg.

Forward of the galley is a large dinette area, with U-shaped seating.  Across the salon walkway is a straight settee, but with this model's unique removable cushion spanning across the doorway to the forepeak, it's easy and quick to create one very long contiguous circle of seating all around the expanding table! The compression-post is so tight against the forepeak bulkhead, that it's not in the way of this circle of seating.

Just aft of that portside settee but ahead of the head-compartment, the Nav-table has a dedicated seat facing forward, but a second opinion on that chart spread on the table can be voiced when seated facing aft on the aft end of the settee!

Guests have their own private stateroom in the forepeak, with traditional V-berth, and hanging locker.

Entire interior is remarkably bright from the extensive opening hatches and sealed deadlights overhead, and the row of cabin-trunk portlights at standing height. Current owners selected THIS model specifically for the abundance of natural light!

Cockpit

Mesh-covered cockpit cushions of waterproof foam.

Teak cockpit table with fold-in leaves; can be deployed narrow or full-width.

BottomSider helmseat - special tall version - atop Starboard structure bridging the open cockpit aft to swimstep.

Either side of helmseat are unusually-wide corner-seats extending quite far aft over swimstep.

Custom (removable) platform of StarBoard atop swimstep, significantly extends storage area for cruising gear

Lewmar's folding-rim wheel on Edson pedestal with single-lever throttle/shift.

Danforth "global balance" compass atop pedestal.

Icom "command-mic" controls VHF inside at nav-station.

Pedestal instrument pods incorporate Raymarine electronics suite:

     C80 Radar/GPS/Plotter/fishfinder

ST60 windspeed/direction, showing apparent OR true!

     ST6002 belowdeck autopilot

     ST60 TriData

Dash over companionway houses ST60 speed, and Sony AM/FM/CD stereo dedicated to cockpit speakers only.

Basis of full-enclosure is dodger forward, then bimini aft of arch, with zip-out clear panel between allowing full visibility of mainsail from helm.

Cockpit is dry enough from extensive full enclosure, that there's a full set of throw-rugs.

Salon

Large dinette with U-shaped seating - seat filler-cushion extending across forepeak passage joins the diette seat to the portside settee.  Dining table has extra leaf in dedicated locker.

Bookshelf-bins end forward at small hullside lockers, atop the settees each side of salon.

Large fixed decklights plus centerline deck-hatch flood salon with light!

Nav-center has table with seating aft and forward

Icom ICM-402 VHF, Raymarine wireless "smart-controller" for autopilot, 12v and 110v panels, tank-gages, Magnum Energy inverter control, AND serial-cable GPS output -- all at Nav-center.

Bose stereo inset into forepeak bulkhead; Bose speakers around salon; subwoofer

3 LED spot-lamps on goose-necks complement stock Hunter cabin-lights.

Galley

deep double-basin high-polish SSTL sink; single lever faucet with pullout sprayer.

Custom glass-rack high above sink-counter; complete set of plastic drinkware.

Complete set of Hunter dishes, in fitted "drying cabinet" to hullside.

Force-10 SSTL stove with oven

2 opening portlights directly above stove.

Tappan Microwave built into cabinetry

Head

Conveniently just to port at base of companionway stairs!

Master stateroom

Standard Queen-zsize berth, athwartship arrangement

Standing headroom forward of berth; hanging lockers at entry, with basketry storage bins hullside.

Portlight thru hullside just beyond the headboard; larger opening hatch to cockpit is set into the angled clearance-area above pillows.

Between the two entry doors, there's a centerline vanity shelf and mirror over the engine-compartment access.

Halogen and  LED reading lights.

Forepeak Stateroom

V-berth, with storage and tankage under, shelves above-bed hullside.

Two hanging lockers

Large deck hatch.

Deck Gear

Double anchor rollers either side of forestay, integrated into SSTL stemhead fitting.

Fiberglass locker-hatch lifts up from foredeck to expose Simpson-Lawrence vertical-shaft anchor windlass with chain gypsy and rope capstan hiding in the anchor-rode locker.

Oversized Bruce 20kg anchor; chain and rope rode.

Kayak racks pivot out from foredeck stanchions, port & starboard.

3 opening deck-hatches - one over forepeak berth, one over dining table, and an offset one over the nav-table.

Note substantial custom SSTL grab-rail extending well-forward from dodger, and wrapping around sides, for enhanced safety when going to foredeck or cabintop.

Sails and Rig

B & R rig featuring aft-swept double-spreaders to eliminate backstay, allowing huge  main to put most power into that easily-controlled sail.

Mainsail furled into Selden mast by Selden's "Furlin'" continuous- line-controlled system

Fractional rig; small jib easily tacked across using large Lewmar ST44 primary self-tailing winches on coaming - jib quickly shortened or put away onto Furlex 200s roller-furler.

All control lines brought to-cockpit thru SpinLock rope-clutches to two cabintop Lewmar ST40 self-tailing winches; tail-ends drop into mesh bags across cockpit bulkhead.

Hunter's trademark over-cockpit SSTL arch keeps mainsheet and Harken traveler out-of-the-way ABOVE the helm; drop the power from the main in a flash, as the traveler controls are right at-hand to the helmsman.
