MOONBEAM is a 2008 Island Pilot 435 with Twin common rail/electronic Volvo diesels and IPS pod drives. The Pod drives allow the engines to be placed under the deck of the cockpit, making the interior of the vessel extremely quiet and smooth. Layout is the single bow stateroom with the wide open galley/dinette arrangement. Both the dinette and salon settee convert with filler cushions to sleeping berths.
Only 200 hours of local cruising. Engine room is clean and neat. Glossy gelcoat is waxed on a regular schedule. Washer/dryer. Two zones of heat/air.
Many very custom features such as the Steelhead Davit, Stainless arch and half tower with full bridge enclosure. Upgrades to the shore-power system includes new 50 amp service and Magnum inverter/charger. Westerbeke generator with soundshield.

MOONBEAM is well designed to provide safe operation and comfort inside and outside. The molded in swim platform not only looks great, it is very functional with easy access to the dinghy, swim platform, and hot & cold shower. The aft deck is covered by hard-top and is a great place to lounge. You can easily get to the flybridge from the cockpit, and walk the wide side decks to the bow. The cabin is low profile, at the bow, providing a lot of deck lounging space. You enter the salon from the aft deck or from the port door or starboard door located at the lower helm.
The flybridge helm deck is covered by a custom S/S framed radar arch and bimini frame with blue canvas. The bimini frame is wider than normal (wider than the flybridge) which provides even more protection. The bimini has front and side enclosures. The seats and helm are protected by canvas covers, while not is use.
The aft portion of the flybridge deck has S/S dinghy cradle with electric Steelhead Marine WD600 yacht davit. It is a very solid installation and looks great.
The interior is light and airy, you notice it the moment you walk inside. Head room is very good, and when coupled with the yachts 14' beam you feel as if you are aboard a much larger yacht. MOONBEAM is a galley down, one stateroom, one head yacht with all of the comfortable you have become accustom to in today's yachts.
The salon has two large front windows, both have windshield wiper and washer. The Salon sides, starting at the front have a long side window, entry door, and then two large side windows. The aft portion of the salon has a large window to starboard, behind the L-shaped settee, and the entry door offset to port.
The salon has good seating; matching pedestal mounted helm chairs that swivel to address the L-shaped settee to starboard. The hi-low, double leaf table has two square box stools with storage inside. The table and stools are movable. The upholstery is light tan/cream color. The custom drapes have matching color. The inside helm is in the forward starboard corner of the salon. The chart area is in front of the port pedestal chair. There is a fold down table on the forward bulkhead. The sole is teal and holly.
MOONBEAM is air conditioned with tow reverse cycle AC systems. The entertainment center is to port, across from the L-shaped settee. It has a Sony Bravia flat screen HDTV with remote. Direct TV TracVision mobile receiver provides a good signal. The sound system is by Bose.
The galley is down with dinette to starboard. The dinette table can be lowered to convert dinette into another berth. The galley is designed very well and is loaded with features, such as good storage space, good counter-top space, HDTV across from the dinette, and one opening port and one over-head hatch. The pantry cabinet has Lexton counter-top, three doors enclosing shelves.
The head is to port with separate shower w/ seat. The head has vanity with Lexton 3M counter-top, mirror, storage cabinets, VacuFlush head, and Tank Tender 4. The holding with Jabsco macerator pump.
Master Stateroom is forward with centerline queen bed. This is a very nice master with two opening ports and an overhead hatch, all with screens. There are two reading lamps, over-head lights, two hanging lockers, four enclosed lockers, two cubbies, and two shelves. There is a Macuro CO Detector.
Both helms are completely equipped, making it very easy to operate MOONBEAM in any kind of weather conditions. You have the ability to operate from inside where the two air conditioners keep you cool or warm. You have the flybridge helm that can be completely open or enclosed on three sides.
MOONBEAM's electrical system was redesigned to provide proper service to the ships AC electrical service. This was an expensive but necessary update from the original factory configuration.
The 7.6 kW Westerbeke generator (only 255 hours), with sound shield. is nicely mounted in the engine room, and it is easily serviced.
MOONBEAM has blue gel coat hull and white boot strip. The molded in swim platform and slightly raised aft deck help to set this fast trawler apart from all the others. The mechanical equipment is very easily access via three large deck hatches with gas cylinder opening assist. The engine compartment is large making it easy to get to everything, including the out-board portion of the engines. There are two smaller hatches to storage compartments. The wet bar cabinet has hot & cold pressure water, storage space, and bottle storage. There is a S/S propane Barbeque grille.
The fore-deck has a storage locker with deck hatch. The Maxwell electric windlass can be operated at the bow, and at both helms. It powers up and down and takes rode and chain.
There is a second large bilge compartment, under the salon, where it is easy to service systems. The washer/dryer is located here.
The flybridge is covered by a custom, very well designed and built, S/S arch and bimini frame with blue canvas canvas top and curtains. You must see it to understand how much it adds to the overall look and use of the yacht. Some of the photo's are meant to make this point.
Volvo Penta D6 435 HP diesel engines (only 190 hrs) have Duo-Prop IPS 600 Drives. The common-rail diesels let you run efficiently at any speed. The IPS600 dual prop POD DRIVE system with joystick control makes operation in tight quarters and docking very easy. She can cruise all day at eight knots, or use your power to cruise at 23 knots effortlessly and economically. Go 30 knots to get there fast.
