J Boats

J Boats

The J/Boats company had humble beginnings but over the past 40 years, they have built winning designs which are raced by movers and shakers in the marine industry and beyond. Rod Johnstone built the first J/24 in his garage in 1975 and by 1977, he and his brother Bob were in business building sleek boats that developed a reputation for being crazy-fast. Today, the Rhode Island company builds boats from 22 to 65 feet for day sailing, cruising and mostly one-design racing. Any serious racer will know J/Boats and many will have owned one at some point. J/Boats are precision machines that command a premium price and will range from $10,000 to $2,000,000, and have sprouted a performance sailing school called J World with five bases around the country.

Join the cool kids without waiting in the queue! The J/111 is a light, quick, responsive racing yacht with a carbon mast, a growing One Design International fleet and a well established Solent fleet. J/111s are racing round the cans and offshore, fully crewed as well as double handed - it's the place to be! OJE has been raced offshore by her owner and has a string of wins to her name.

After a hugely successful J/111 World Championships that was hosted by the Royal Yacht Squadron, it has been confirmed that the 2015 worlds will head to Newport RI USA before returning to the Solent 2016!

Owners Comments

We have enjoyed owning and racing this great yacht and she is our third boat from the J Boat family. We have had great success racing her with the JOG fleet and some of our results in the 2012 season include-

1st St Vaast, St Peter Port, Cowes-Poole, Poole-Cowes, Owers

3rd Cowes-Yarmouth

4th Alderney Cherbourg

And overall 2nd in the Cat 3 series and Winners of the Cat 4 series.

In 2013 we did less owing to other commitments but still we were

1st Yarmouth-Cowes, Cowes-Cascais

2nd Cowes-Cherbourg

4th St Vaast, Cowes-Lymington

Now we are looking forwards to the next project so sadly Oje must be sold. For sale exclusively with Key Yachting, viewings are available seven days a week at short notice.
