A very lightly used recent example from 2012 which has only done three regattas. Great inventory including a new set of sails which are unbranded (main and jib) and only used for four days training, fully race prepared including fairing of the keel and rudder to design templates. She is absolutely ready to go immediately and can be viewed seven days a week at short notice. She is available as Zero Rated for VAT for export or VAT could be reclaimed by an appropriately qualified purchaser. The J/80’s high stability and built in buoyancy make it the only sportsboat with a Category B offshore classification. She has a proper lead keel for high stability, a tough two spreader mast, a large cockpit and ‘top of the range’ jib furling system and deck gear. The J/80 is an ISAF one design and in 2013 the World Championships will be held in Marseille shortly after the UK National Championships in June at the Royal Yacht Squadron in Cowes. Boats are check measured and weighed at major events, sail purchases are restricted to one suit per year and professional helmsman are not allowed to ‘parachute in’ for regattas. Racing is fair, fun and targets owner drivers. Delightfully easy to sail, yet capable of 18 knots on a breezy day, the J/80 has its own class for the Round the Island Race and at Cowes Week and at many other regattas around the UK. |
