“Serenity" was the winner of the prestigious People’s Choice Award at the Fort Lauderdale Trawler Fest in 2011 and has all the comforts of a land based home. The gourmet galley has a four burner Viking range and other household-sized appliances that would satisfy a professional chef.  The Garmin touch-screen electronics are the latest technology and easy to use.  Serenity is in like new sail-away condition and has been meticulously maintained by her owners. Solid fiberglass below the waterline with aramid fiber-reinforced stem and stern bottom areas and vinylester resins used in laminates. Above the waterline a combination of Knyex, mat and Airex are used for added resiliency as well as improved sound and thermal insulation. The superstructure includes Knytex combined with end-grained balsa and/or Divinycell coring and surface mats (to reduce print-through). Cook gel coat is used on the superstructure. Teak aft and side desks glued down with no screw fittings. Boat deck and for deck are finished with Grip Tex non-skid. Diamond Sea Glaze weather–tight doors and windows have been used throughout the vessel

"Serenity" is a widebody model with an Ultra Suede covered U-shaped settee for maximum seating.  There is a hi/low dining/cocktail table and granite counter tops throught the saloon.  The 40" Samsung LED TV with custom lift and  Bose home entertainment system with surround sound give you all of the comforts of home.  The entertaining area just forward of the saloon is outfitted with a buffet bar with china cabinet and wine cooler.  Screened double aluminum weather-tight doors open to  the fully covered cockpit and large opening windows with screens make the saloon feel  open and airy.

One of the great features of the 48AE is the gourmet galley equipped with Viking range, GE 18 cu ft stainless steel refrigerator, dishwasher and convection microwave.  The counter tops are granite.  There is a very generous pantry, custom cabinetry and large drawers for pots, pans and dishes.  A stainless sink and fixtures, vented & lighted cabinets with locking latches and an opening, screened window finish the galley off in style!

The master stateroom is located forward. It features a center-line island queen berth with a Saatva organic cotton mattress with hand-tied coils, 3 hanging lockers, mirrored vanity, generous drawer and locker storage, 4 opening ports and 2 overhead hatches. The master stateroom forward offers abundant ventilation for those peaceful nights at anchor and quiet rest with no hard chines to slap. There is also an en-suite full head with a large shower and even more storage.

A generous stateroom for guests serves as an office/den for just the two of you. There is a full size desk with shelves and drawers and teak lighted bookshelves. The L-shaped settee converts to full double bed.  There is also a large hanging locker and drawers below the settee and in the vanity for guests.

The pilothouse on a Krogen 48AE is large enough to constitute an entire separate living space. The settee converts to double berth for guests or a generous watch-berth on passages.  The KVH Satellite TV system can be called up to any of the Garmin touch-screen plotters and display TV/movies, in stereo, through the Bose home entertainment system. The large North Sea angled windows provide great visibility while the “Dutch” aluminum weather-tight doors and the screened overhead hatches and aft side windows provide excellent ventilation. Add to that the truly unequalled ride of a Kadey-Krogen and the pilothouse will soon become your favorite room on the boat!
