Description/Condition

CRISTOBAL

The 2007 Refit on CRISTOBAL was substantial and included all new teak decks, foredeck subdeck replacement, new teak cap rails, new deck and cabin paint and most of her exterior metals have either been re-plated or replaced.  All varnish throughout the boat was stripped and refinished.  New solar panels were installed and the entire interior was refinished.  CRISTOBAL shows beautifully and is a well proven passagemaker with a number of trans-atlantic crossings to her credit.




Construction

Fiberglass hull with fiberglass over plywood deck construction and new teak decks. Hydraulic Dual Ram steering. CRISTOBAL's hull and bottom are blue and her boottop and deck are white. The vessel's interior and exterior were refit in 2007 by Yachting Solutions, Rockport, Maine.



Engine

170 hp Yanmar 4LH DTE. 4 cylinder, diesel, fresh water cooled. Binnacle mount engine controls. Engine hour meter showing 2,719.5 hours. Bronze propeller with 1 1/2" shaft. Cruising speed 8 knots, 10 knots maximum.



Tanks

Fuel tank reported to have a capacity of 207 gallons, water tank reported to have a capacity of 217 gallons.



Electrical

12V lighting and starting systems. 12/24V engine alternator. Circuit breaker electrical panel. Fisher Panda 4KW auxiliary generator with 1500 hours. 30 amp shore power, Mastervolt charger. Polarity indicator, master switch, battery condition indicator, converter/inverter.



Accommodations

Aft is a large cockpit with a folding table on the mizzen mast. �The forward part of the cockpit is protected by the large doghouse. �Going below, through the doghouse companion way, one descends a gentle set of stairs and enters into the spacious and open saloon. �To starboard, there is a bar that folds open as the locker is opened. �To port �is the navigation area and a settee. �Continuing forward to port is a U shaped galley, separated from �the dining area and main saloon table by a counter and the companionway forward. �The main saloon table seats six comfortably for dinner.

Forward from the saloon and galley are two identical staterooms, one port and one starboard, with large double bunks. �The staterooms feature full-height hanging lockers, a chest of drawers and a small bedside table/cubby set. �Ventilation is provided by large opening deck hatches, with screens. �Heating is provided by the ship's ESPAR heating system. The entire interior was completely refit in 2007 and features all new�interior Awlgrip paint, new interior lighting and fixtures as well as soft goods, cushions, hull liners etc.



Sails and Rigging

Ketch rig. Standing rigging material is stainless steel wire and the turnbuckles are stainless steel. Mast is 62' high, stepped on the keel and was reported to be new in 1999. Spars are hollow aluminum finished with AwlGrip. Four hydraulic halyard winches - two Lewmar 66 and two Wilkie 32. Eight sheet winches - four main, two boom and two murry.



Ground Tackle

Two plow anchors, bow roller. Ideal hydraulic windlass.



Equipment

Life raft (last inspected April 2011), horseshoe ring, ACR VRC 100 searchlight, boathook, man overboard pole, spreader lights, ACR EPIRB, sail covers, bow pulpit, stern rail, double lifelines, Whittall davits, Power Survivor low energy water maker.



Electronics and Navigation

Boston barometer, Boston clock/chronometer, binnacle mounted Danforth Constellation compass, Standard Horizon Intrepid VHF with repeater, Icom single sideband radio, Robertson AP300X autopilot, Furuno radar, Raymarine RC80C and Raymarine 2770 binnacle mount GPS's, Datamarine wind/speed indicator, Datamarine depth sounder, masthead wind indicator, Datamarine speed/log, Alpine AM/FM radio cassette player, CD player with six disk CD changer, two cellular phones, various charts.
