SOLVEIG IV is a 3-stateroom 58' that is under the command of her second owners who have lived aboard for the past 6 years.  However, the time has come to move ashore and allow SOLVEIG IV to carry new owners on their cruising adventure. She is completely equipped whether it be coastal cruising or crossing oceans.  While easily handled by the cruising couple there are luxurious accommodations for those occasions when guests are aboard.  The Krogen 58' is truly a little ship with the handling and sea kindliness you would expect in a bluewater capable vessel.

SOLVEIG IV is new to the market and worthy of any serious cruisers attention.

Construction

Solid fiberglass below the waterline with Kevlar-reinforced stem and stern bottom areas and vinlyester resins used in first two (2) laminates. Above the waterline a combination of Knyex, mat and Airex are used for added resiliency as well as improved sound and thermal insulation.

The superstructure includes Knytex combined with end-grained balsa and/or Divinycell coring and surface mats (to reduce print-through). Cook gel coat is used on the superstructure. Teak aft and side decks. Boat deck and fore deck are finished with GripTex non-skid.

Freeman weather-tight doors and GEBO windows have been used throughout the vessel.

Saloon

Every Kadey-Krogen has a fully covered aft deck that functions as an extension of the saloon, transitioning easily to the large saloon through double aluminum weather-tight doors.  Upon entering the saloon you will find 2 leather recliner chairs and a side table to port.  To starboard is a large L-shaped leather settee and a hi-lo table.  There is a fitted designer carpet with matching curtains and accents.  There are 5 opening screened windows in the saloon alone providing plenty of light and ventilation.

Galley

Forward of the saloon is the very large in-line open faced galley where you will find all the conveniences of any home kitchen.  Major components include:

  • Broadwater 4 burner propane stove with oven
  • Jenn-Air side-by-side stainless steel refrigerator / freezer with ice maker
  • GE convection microwave oven
  • GE trash compactor
  • Meile dishwasher
  • Large stainless steel sink
  • Garbage disposal
  • Welded aluminum dutch entrance door
  • Large pantry and serving area

Master Stateroom

The master stateroom is located down and all the way forward from the galley.  Since a Krogen does not have any chines or spray rails forward it is the perfect location to get plenty of natural ventilation while at anchor without the water slap.

There is a queen-size island berth with a Tempur-Pedic mattress and abundant under.  There are hanging lockers port and starboard, a 10 drawer bureau with full width lighted mirror and an ensuite head.  There are 4 stainless steel opening ports and 2 overhead hatches.

The ensuite head  has a Corian vanity with medicine cabinets, fresh water VacuFlush toilet, large stall shower with molded seat and 2 stainless steel opening ports.

Starboard Guest Stateroom

Aft of the master staterrom on the starboard side is a guest stateroom with a queen-size berth, abundant storage, hanging locker, 2 stainless steel opening ports and a private entrance to the guest head.

Guest Cabin / Office

Aft of the master stateroom on the port side is the third cabin with a convertible settee, hanging locker, desk with proper file drawers and 2 stainelss steel opening ports.

Guest Head

The guest head is aft of the master stateroom on the starboard side opposite the laundry, and is accessed from the companionway or the starboard guest stateroom.  There is a Corian vanity with medicine cabinet, a fresh water VacuFlush toilet and a large stall shower with a stainless steel opening port and bi-fold door.

Pilothouse

Up and forward from the galley is the operations center of this little ship.  The helm console is perfectly laid out and conveniently monitored from the Stidd helm seat.  The pilothouse also serves as a gathering place for crew and guests with a large L-shaped settee with expandable table that converts to a double berth.  There are welded aluminum weather-tight dutch doors port and starboard, opening windows port and starboard, 2 overhead hatches and 2 stainless steel opening ports.  Ventilation is never a problem on a 58'. The side doors lead to the upper side decks and the Portuguese bridge, and the port side deck leads up to the boat deck and flybridge.
