Lagoon Catamarans is a brand of Groupe Beneteau of France and builds multihulls from 39 to 62 feet. Many of these models are active in bareboat and high-end crewed charter and have been gaining ground in the private ownership market as well. Since the mid-1980s, Lagoon has built boats focused on practicality of use and onboard comfort. The boats are easy to spot by their vertical wrap-around windows, rounded cabintops and square-head mainsails. Visibility from the helms of these models is excellent as the steering stations are always raised but somewhat protected from the elements. These boats enjoy the support of a strong owners’ association and can be found cruising in most parts of the world.
A classic Lagoon 570 built in 2006, in the CNB yard in Bordeaux. This Lagoon 570 is the owner's version with three double cabins, plus a skipper's double in the starboard hull and a crew cabin forward in the port hull. It has been in private ownership from new and never chartered, being cared for by the current owners who report her as "fantastic to sail and easy to handle". She has a terrific inventory, including generator, central heating, plotters, radar, satellite dome, GRP bimini and davits. The white hull has been decorated with striking nautical graphics in a vinyl wrap. Currently afloat in Southampton and available to view seven days a week by appointment.
