This company made its mark back in 1977, when an international fuel crisis paved the way for the boating public to embrace a new, single-diesel cruising boat that the average family could afford. That boat was a Mainship and 1,200 hulls were subsequently built. Since that time, Mainship has been known as a leading manufacturer of production trawlers.
The company was recently acquired by Marlow-Hunter , and the brand continues to embrace its value position although without sacrificing quality or comfort. Mainship cruisers ride on hulls that offer fuel efficiency at displacement speeds, but they’re designed for planing speeds, too. A popular boat among liveaboards, amenities include full-service galleys and roomy cabins. For safety, there are wide and deep flybridge steps, raised bulwarks, deep cockpits and oversized stainless rails on deck.
Mainship is taking the trawler into the next century, blending today’s technology and production techniques with the experience of crafting thousands of trawlers during the eighties. This new breed of trawler covers all bases, allowing you to cruise economically or clip off the miles up on plane.
