Description/Condition

Confounding the industry which fully expected development of ever larger versions of the very successful Marlow 57' - 78' Explorer series, we have continued the development of the series downward to answer repeated inquiries for a similar Explorer capable of extended ocean voyages. The 53C's large fiberglass fuel and stainless steel water capacities allow far ranging destinations and the unique and proven hull design guarantees comfort in less than ideal conditions should they arise. The 53C will astonish with the internal volume. With a beam of only 2" less than the 57-65 series it provides a wonderfully spacious stand up engine room Explorers are famous for and commodious accommodations everywhere. Marlow Yachts are constructed using a proprietary Resin Infused Vacuum Assisted Transfer system. Essentially what this does is infuse the high technology fabrics with exactly the right amount of resin. Marlow Yachts are enormously strong, taking advantage of Modified Epoxy Resins, Kevlar and Engineered Axis Fabrics over Corecel foam panels. We apply enormous vacuum and heat to the molding process which literally bakes the yacht in the tooling. All of these proprietary methods add strength, beauty, durability and value to the end product.

Each teak interior is hand crafted from a single log which is hand picked in Thailand and shipped to Taiwan to ensure that the grain, color and grade are consistent throughout the boat. Optional cherry and maple interiors are offered as well.

In the Marlow 53C Explorer we have developed a curved glass template for our front windshields for even better visibility. This glass is incredibly strong, being both laminated and tempered. We are aware of only two other yachts constructed using both tempered and laminated glass and none under 85' using a thickness of approximately 14mm which is just under 5/8" thick. Most yachts are built with glass of approximately 6-7mm with some even less.

The Explorer 53C will feature our signature large pilothouse with outstanding visibility in all directions. The galley will follow in the steps of her larger sisters providing the chef with a great place to work in a sensibly designed "U" shaped area for maximum efficiency and minimal requirement to move. We have included three lovely cabins forward with two very large heads. One cabin doubles as an office stateroom and features an "open plan" with double opening doors to the companionway for a more spacious and open look and feel. The main salon is spacious, inviting and sensibly arranged featuring entertainment centers in both audio-visual and at cocktail hour. A large custom sofa occupies much of the starboard side with a hand crafted work of art hi-lo table suitable for dining located just inboard of the sofa. Across the salon and depending upon layout selected either one or two comfortable easy chairs invite your guests to relax. At the aft end of the salon is the exit to the lovely cockpit and cavernous lazarette below. Covered lower decks, shaded by the overhead boat deck provide a welcome respite from the summer sun or rain.

The large engine room is simply not to be fully comprehended until seen. Though we are famous for spacious engine rooms, we believe we have exceeded our own high expectations and standards with this one. Spacious and well lit with dual lighting systems, no less than four high volume cooling fans and a finish level that must be seen and compared to understand, this is a wonderful space to putter or just look at the marvelous engineering accomplished. The power plants chosen will sit upon highly polished stainless steel grids that are bolted and glued into the main structual members of the yacht. Our proprietary generator sound enclosures allow us to monitor vital systems inside the Lexan sound boxes before they become a problem.

Of course our proprietary sea chest system that filters the water before it enters the yacht and

Manufacturer Provided Description

The ME53C was created in response to customer's repeated requests for a smaller version of the previously introduced larger Marlow Explorers. This yacht is fully capable of extended ocean cruising but is easily managed by a couple. The 53C's large fiberglass fuel and stainless steel water capacities allow far ranging destinations and the unique and proven hull design guarantees comfort in less than ideal conditions should they arise. The ME53C will astonish you with the internal volume. With a beam of only 2" less than the 57-65' series, it provides the wonderfully spacious stand up engine room Explorers are noted for and commodious interior spaces from the saloon to the staterooms. There are three staterooms below, master and VIP, with full heads and one more guest stateroom that can double as an at-sea office. The u-shaped galley is in the aft part of the raised pilothouse and features every convenience and appliance to make your galley duties a pleasure. The dinette is next to the helm and is comfortable, roomy and presents a lovely view through the pilothouse windows. Two steps down from the pilothouse is the saloon with built-in seating that doubles as storage with pneumatic lifting hinges, wet bar with storage, TV/Stereo cabinets and lovely teak coffee table.
