Moody

  A former giant of the British sailboat building industry, the Moody name has been synonymous with quality yachts for many generations. In the very early 1970s the family run yard engaged Angus Primrose to design a 33ft comfortable cruising yacht, which would be built by Marine projects, builder of Princess motor yachts. The new boat was a resounding success and spawned a growing range of craft with sizes spanning from 27-64ft, that followed the same premise of offering a quality, solid and comfortable cruiser. From the early 1980s onwards, the range was designed by Bill Dixon, with the boats generally becoming larger, more luxurious and faster. However by the 2000s volumes were falling and in 2007 the company was sold to Hanse Group, which commissioned Dixon to design a range of three bang up-to-the-minute deck saloon yachts from 45 to 62 feet, plus more traditionally styled 41ft and 45ft sloops.

Moody 422 built in 1987 by A.H. MOODY & Son. LIMITED, Swanwick, Southampton, UK. 

The Moody 422 has been a popular cruising yacht since her launch in 1987. Well balanced, easy to handle under sail and motor she has been a reliable companion for many owners on weekend or blue water cruises. Among other features she has been appreciated for the light and airy saloon and the spacious aft cabin with ensuite heads/shower compartment, the layout of the galley that works well at sea, the central cockpit with comfortable helmsman´s position, the uncluttered deck space, the aft end of raised trunk behind cockpit, that can be used as sunbathing area, or would make a useful storage space for dinghy or liferaft, and the commodious lazarette aft. 

SLEEPS UP TO EIGHT GUESTS IN THREE CABINS PLUS SALOON 
The light and airy SALOON has a U- shaped settee to starboard and a straight settee opposite to port. Both settees convert into a berth and both have lee-cloths. Drop-leaf table with bottle storage between settees.

NAVIGATION AREA at the starboard side. PASSAGE CABIN AFT to starboard has 2 Pullman berths with lee-cloths that convert into settee. It can be closed off by 2 doors to form a separate cabin. Spacious AFT CABIN: centreline double berth, that gives access from both sides, a settee fitted to starboard and a hanging locker and dresser to port, generous storage and a full mirror. A completely self contained toilet compartment is provided en suite to this cabin, equipped with marine wc and shower with hot and cold water. The FORE CABIN is equipped with V-berth to sleep two, ample storage. Further aft on starboard side is a heads/shower compartment, that provides 2 doors to be included ensuite with the fore cabin or to be accessed directly from saloon. 
Interior joinery finished in teak.
