Manufacturer Info

A former giant of the British sailboat building industry, the Moody name has been synonymous with quality yachts for many generations. In the very early 1970s the family run yard engaged Angus Primrose to design a 33ft comfortable cruising yacht, which would be built by Marine projects, builder of Princess motor yachts. The new boat was a resounding success and spawned a growing range of craft with sizes spanning from 27-64ft, that followed the same premise of offering a quality, solid and comfortable cruiser. From the early 1980s onwards, the range was designed by Bill Dixon, with the boats generally becoming larger, more luxurious and faster. However by the 2000s volumes were falling and in 2007 the company was sold to Hanse Group, which commissioned Dixon to design a range of three bang up-to-the-minute deck saloon yachts from 45 to 62 feet, plus more traditionally styled 41ft and 45ft sloops.

NEW LISTING! On the hard at Chaguaramas

The Moody 42 centre cockpit was based on the same hull as the Moody 42 aft cockpit, developed to provide ultimate cruising versatility and designed by Angus Primrose .

Her modern underbody, long waterline and moderate displacement assures fast passages, ability to point high and responsive to quick handling in tight harbours.

The Moody is a rugged boat, with a North Sea mentality in her design and construction.

From the recessed fore deck to oversized rigging, she is ready for more weather than one would proably ever need.

The centre cockpit is designed for maximum protection as well as comfort even with large crew. The large wheel-steering system incorporates all rod and gear linkage.

Lines are lead to eliminate acrobatics in trimming sails.

The cockpit sail locker is as close to you as your decision to change sails.

Wheareas first is the safety and performance, secondly comes comfort.

Six persons can enjoy their privacy of their own quarters.

Owner's stateroom is spacious, two heads, large salon, well laid out alongside galley.

Registered in Canada.
