Boat Description
The Morris 42's ingenious use of space gives her the feel of a much larger yacht. She offers a luxurious two-stateroom layout with a spacious galley U-shaped galley. A head with shower stall is another welcome luxury on a yacht of this size. On deck, like most Morris models, the 42 looks a lot like a classic yacht. There are real bulwarks to secure your footing, and sturdy hand holds on the cabin top. The cabin sides exhibit good-sized opening ports throughout, bringing in light and at anchor - the sea breezes. The 42 cockpit is laid out for cruising, with very comfortable seating and a roomy cockpit locker. Visibility forward is exceptional. You can gain a good view past the bow without the need for a raised helm seat. And the broad expanse of smooth cabin top provides sure footing for doing a harbor furl of the mainsail.

While the Morris 42 provides plenty of comfort for cruising, she - as with all Morris Yachts - has shown enough speed to support a racing career. The location of her engine and batteries, U-shaped galley, and navigation and electrical stations in virtually the same plane minimizes pitching which is vital to true racing performance.
