Boat Description

Mulder Favorite 1300 Cabrio, a luxury all-rounder

Mulder Shipyard in the Netherlands has delivered a new member of the renowned Mulder Favorite family.

The Mulder Favorite 1300 Cabrio is the first convertible model in the series. The classically lined Mulder Favorite 1300 Cabrio is based on the successful Favorite line reintroduced by Mulder Shipyard in 2010 to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the famous Favorite Cruisers. The 1300 Cabrio was developed in close cooperation with Guido de Groot Design and Vripack Naval Architects. Characteristic features of the modern classic include the nearly straight bow and the sloping transom stern. The Favorite 1300 Cabrio is a distinctive yacht with recognisable retro lines, designed for family sailing. The custom-built 1300 serves as the perfect day-cruiser but is also very suitable for longer stays on board. The elegant yacht has a functional layout and provides the highest level of luxury and comfort. With her spacious cabins, light saloon, large open cockpit and subtle tender storage this yacht is a true all-rounder. The electrically operated convertible roof of over twelve square metres creates a unique ‘open sailing experience’. The raised seating area in the saloon, elongated windows on both sides and glass sliding doors with electrically operated sliding windows provide unobstructed views all around. The Favorite 1300 Cabrio has an aluminium hull and superstructure, and the two 110 hp Volvo Penta engines and beautiful round-bilged hull with propeller shaft propulsion ensure an efficient, silent and comfortable performance.

The revival of the Mulder Favorite series has been very well-received around the world. Previous deliveries included the elegant Favorite 1500 and the Favorite 1400 IPS with a top speed of thirty knots. The latter was named ‘Best production Yacht’ in a leading American magazine in 2011. Mulder Shipyard was established by Dirk Mulder Sr. in 1938 and soon developed into a major player in the Dutch yachtbuilding sector. With a Mulder still at the helm, the traditional family business can attribute its excellent reputation to the classic Super Favorite Cruisers, the later Favorite Superior and the Mulder Custom Build motoryachts which are seen in many Dutch and international waters. The Mulder brand represents quality and a superior finish which is achieved by the company’s strong team with extensive knowledge of the latest techniques and construction methods. This spring Mulder Shipyard took its new yard in Zoeterwoude-Rijndijk into use. In addition to enabling the construction of yachts up to 45 metres, the sustainably constructed yard also provides space for winter storage, maintenance and refits. The former yard in Voorschoten will be focusing on refits, maintenance, storage and the sale of yachts up to 18 metres.
