This line of true, ocean-going passagemakers is offered by Pacific Asian Enterprises in Dana Point, California, which closely supervises the production of the power yachts in Taiwan. Nordhavns are full-displacement motor vessels with exceptional range and seakeeping ability. Each model–from the Nordhavn 40 on the low end to the 120-foot flagship–is built stout and tough and designed to punch through heavy head seas and track down swell as if on rails. Nordhavns attract owners with serious cruising plans, those who are extremely comfortable traveling blue water for extended periods of time. These owners are proud of the Nordhavn history, too. In 1989, for instance, the Nordhavn N46 debuted as the first production passagemaker. More than 80 of those groundbreaking hulls were sold. Today, many of those boats continue to carry their current owners to all corners of the globe.
***Redesigned for 2005***
Orplid is without doubt one of the most well equipped Nordhavn 40’s currently cruising Europe. She has been very well maintained by her current owner. During his ownership he has also had professionally installed a number of other pieces of equipment. These include; fresh water wash down for the bow & stern, a very comprehensive electronics package, video cameras in the engine room & aft deck, stern thruster, diesel heating, electric stern winch, flopper stoppers and fully enclosed cockpit canvases.
The 40 MK 2 is a proven passage maker, very popular in Europe and not frequently seen on the brokerage market. Apart from the items listed above the other impressive items aboard Orplid are an 8KW generator, 27hp wing engine, bow thruster, engine room fire suppression system, ABT TRAC stabilizers, air conditioning and full hot water system.
This is really an excellent opportunity if you are thinking of cruising this summer, Orplid is lying in Oxelosund, Sweden, which is about 70 miles south from Stockholm, with a full inventory and ready to cruise. She is CE certified.

|With 45 hulls sold, the Nordhavn 40 has established herself as the most capable ship of her size with both a circumnavigation and an Atlantic crossing under her belt. This boat was great to begin with, but the minds at PAE set out to refine her and keep her at the top of her game The redesigned 40 will be the same boat technically speaking, but her level of fit and finish will resemble the craftsmanship that the rest of the Nordhavn line has become famous for. Now standard are granite countertops in the head and galley, higher quality teak with enough varnish to fill the grain resulting in a perfect finish, a superior class of exterior stainless including a new stainless rub rail, and a redesigned hull/deck joint that accomplishes a precision fit. Upon inspection, the most obvious change will be in the pilothouse and saloon windows which were enlarged and fitted with 1D2-inch thick tempered glass for more visibility, more light and more durability. There were other small improvements made in the engine room and owners cabin for easier maneuverability.|
