Accommodations
MONASTIR is fited with the standard Mason 44 layout, with private double staterooms forward and aft and 2 berths in the main cabin. The forward cabin has a V-berth (w/ filler to make a double), drawers under and storage above and outboard of the berths. Hanging locker just forward of the door to the main cabin. Next aft to starboard is a large hanging locker, with the toilet compartment across to port. The main cabin has a U-shaped dinette to port around a pedestal-mounted dining table. To starboard is an extension sette berth and an upper pilot berth. Next aft is the U-shaped galley to port and the navigation station to starboard. The companionway is aft to starboard and the aft cabin is to port. With a large double berth to port, storage lockers outboard, a hanging locker and bookshelves, this owner's cabin deserves its name. The interior is finished w/ satin-varnished teak w/ a teak & holly sole.


Galley
The U-shaped galley is equipped with a Force Ten propane 3-burner stove w/ oven and broiler, protected by a safety bar. There are double s.s. sinks w/ hot & cold pressure water fed from 10 gallon water heater. The large fiberglass-lined icebox has front and top openings, is fitted with separate SeaFrost freezer and refrigerator compartments and is driven by an on-engine compressor and a shore-powered unit. Abundant storage is found in lockers and drawers outboard and under-counter.

Rigging & Sails
Aluminum mast and boom w/ in-mast mainsail furling (electric w/ manual backup). Cutter riggged w/ Harken headstay furling and removaable inner forestay. Sails: Mainsail, 125% UK Passagemaker genoa ('05) and a Cruising spinnaker. Winches include 2 Lewmar #54ST electric primaries, 2 #30ST secondaries, a #40ST mainsheet winch and 2 #30ST halliard winches. Standing rigging is 1 x 19 s.s. wire with s.s. & chromed-bronze turnbuckles & toggles. Running rigging is Dacron braid line. Running backstays fitted to tackles to deck padeyes, easily stored when not needed. Spars are polyurethane-painted white. Spinnaker gear is fitted and there is a telescoping whisker pole.


Hull & Deck
Flag Blue awlgripped fiberglass hull, handlaid solid construction w/ stiffening stringers added where designed. All thruhulls are fitted with bronze ball valves. The two-tone deck is one-piece white fiberglass w/ cored construction, moulded light gray non-skid forward, side decks and cabintop. The cockpit is finished w/ teak decking in the classic style.
