Aria is a beautiful yacht from the famous US Palmer Johnson shipyard.

She has had several refits including new engine in 2002; rigging replacement in 2005; new sails 2006; new electric furlers in 2007; new generator 2008; and most recently a refit in the UK at Pendennis Yard with: - both centre boards removed and overhauled; backstays  reconditioned (Navtec); 2 new bilge pumps and associated pipework replaced; bow thruster pump over-hauled; water maker over-hauled; steering ram rebuilt; pipework replaced and new electric drive motor fitted; refrigeration system over-hauled; part of the main engine exhaust replaced.

She features a master cabin with en-suite full size tub and shower, two guest cabins with shower, a double and a single crew cabin and a saloon and galley, all giving an atmosphere of classic glamour.

Two inline centreboards with minimum draft  2.97m, maximum 6m. making her very versatile.

In March 2013 ARIA is out of the water in Lagos.

REFITS AND OTHER COMMENTS

August 2011 yard period at Pendennis shipyard Falmouth, works included:
Both centre boards removed and bushes replaced, painted ,faired and anti-fouled.
All backstays reconditioned (Navtec)
2 new bilge pumps and associated pipe-work replaced.
Bow-thruster pump over-hauled.
Water maker over-hauled.
Steering ram rebuilt, pipe-work replaced and new electric drive motor fitted..
Refrigeration system over-hauled.
Part of the main engine exhaust replaced.
 
Running rigging mostly new this year (2011).

Before the current owner owned the yacht in 2002 she had a fairly major refit including changing the aft stateroom and saloon areas, plumbing, toilets, electronics.

Main engine, Volvo TAMD74 replaced in 2002.
Northern lights 32kva genset 2002.

Mast removed and rigging replaced in 2005 after survey report when current owner purchased the yacht.
Both head sail furlers replaced (Harken) in 2007.
Mainsail furler in good working order.
Sails replaced (Hood) 2006.
Air con system new in 2008.

Northern lights 25kva genset new in 2008 2,936 hrs good working order.
 
In 2009 she had a new cockpit roof made with fixed windows at the front and soft roll up windows on the sides.
Also 2009 she had a larger bow-thruster tube fitted and a Vetus thruster unit installed. Plus a new cutlass bearing for the main engine.
 
ARIA has a good solid aluminium hull and has had various upgrades – as listed above – but we believe she will shortly be in need of a re-paint (the paint is dull).  Some attention is also soon  needed to deck paint as the paint is bubbling in areas (this is not bad and it would also be possible to repair in patches and apply a new coat of anti-skid paint).
