| 2001 GEMINI 105MC FOR SALE
Contact me by EMAIL - GYPSYCAT777@YAHOO.COM Length: 33 Beam: 14 Draft 18 Engine: 27HP Westerbeke diesel Rig: Sloop fractional 15/16 Berths: 3 Heads: 1 Galley: 2 Burner stove, oven, fresh and salt water in double sink Gypsy Cat is a very well-loved and well-maintained cruiser. She is turnkey and currently cruising with extras like dinghy davits, solar panels (130W), factory outdoor cushions, custom cockpit shade, three good anchors (2 36lb. Deltas and Danforth) and rode, extra jib, remote autopilot, 2009 Garmin GPS chartplotter, two automatic bilge pumps, seawater footpump in galley, nice stainless BBQ, Sony sound system, etc. She is the perfect Caribbean vessel, we think, and we have taken her to the Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, USVIs, BVIs, Anguilla, St. Martin, Saba, St. Eustatias, St. Kitts, Nevis, Antigua, Barbuda, Guadeloupe, Dominica, Martinique, St. Lucia, St. Kitts, the Grenadines, and Grenada. She is currently in the Antigua, St. Martin, Anguill, and St. Barts areas. Pick up a cruising magazine and find the maker of the boat, Performance Cruising. You will see Gypsy Cat in their print ad. She gets hauled each year with above and below the waterline maintenance and refits. Last seasons haul out, besides the normal repairs, maintenance, and cleaning included: Annual below waterline antifouling (three coats!) Removed and repaired (better than factory) the starboard centerboard Put in a new rubrail insert all around Changed our galley footpump to seawater intake so we have both sea and sweet water Put in automatic bilge pumps in each hull Put in new rudder lines Put in new rudder to outdrive lines Put in new centerboard lines Put in new dual helm and steering cables Serviced all the winches Tensioned the rigging to specs Corrosion protected and repainted the outdrive Reinforced the davits with S.S. backing plates Installed base for harnesses in the cockpit Removed and resealed all of the deck hatches Put three coats of wax topsides and below She just got launched a couple months ago in St. Martin and had the usual love, polishing, waxing, and bottom paint. How does she sail? Very easy to single-hand, stable and safe (she has taken 60 knots of wind with full sail out got caught in a heavy squall no problem), quite fast (I did 8-9 knots for much of the time on my solo trip from Grenada to St. Barts ), and she points well to windward for a cat. A great many cats struggle to point better than 45°-50° to the apparent wind and often lose a further 10°-15° to leeway, which is why you frequently see cats motorsailing into the wind. The Geminis aerofoil centreboards, however, change the game entirely, which is why all the professional catamaran racers use them. - Sailing Today Is she Bluewater? Yes. See the many reviews at http://www.performancecruising.com/gemini105mc/reviews The maker, Tony Smith did a North Atlantic crossing in very heavy seas. "Slapdash" http://theslapdash.com is currently sailing around the world. They are in Bali now. Our friends on "Footprint" sailed over to Europe recently. I am happy to answer any questions.
