RED JACKET

Designed by Peterson Yachts, RED JACKET is a very handsome pilothouse trawler built to very high standards by Farrin's Boatshop of South Bristol, Maine. She's ideally suited for cruising New England, and her layout includes a spacious owner's cabin forward with a large double berth, a separate stall shower in the forward head, and a well-equipped galley and convertible dinette aft with a second head for occasional guests. RED JACKET has benefited from caring owners over the years, and we feel she can be highly recommended.



Construction
Carvel 5/4" cedar planking on oak frames, laminated mahogany structural keel, bronze-screw fastened. Epoxy-covered marine plywood deck. Self-bailing teak-over-marine-plywood cockpit. 1,000-lb. external lead ballast and 2,000 lb. interior lead ballast. Red hull with white boottop, black bottom, and gray deck. RED JACKET is reported to be in excellent condition. The owner reports that the interior was refinished in 2004, the cabin exterior in fall 2008, and the topsides fall of 2009.


Engine
1987 Volvo TAMD 60C 250-hp 6-cyl fresh-water-cooled diesel engine with 2.5:1 twin-disk reduction gear, Morse single-lever engine controls, engine-hour meter (2,100+ hrs. as of May 2010). The engine is reported to be in very good condition. 27-x-22 four-blade bronze propeller and spare propeller. Cruising speed 8 kn., 10 kn. max. Range: approx. 1,000 mi.


Tanks
235 gal. fuel in 2 aluminum tanks, 240 gal. water in 3 aluminum tanks, 40-gal. holding capacity in 2 polyethylene tanks.


Electrical
12V lighting system with 100-amp Balmar alternator, three 8D batteries, circuit-breaker panel, 30-amp shore-power hook-up, battery-charger, polarity indicator, master switch, battery-condition indicator, converter/inverter.


Accommodations
Sleeps 4 in 1 double and 2 single berths. Two heads, 1 with a shower. The gallery features a double sink with pressure/hot water (20-gal. tank), Hillerange gimbaled 3-burner propane stove with oven, 2009 microwave oven, 2001 Norcold refrigerator/freezer. Espar diesel cabin heater. Folding dining table. Dickerson Newport cabin heater. Interior is finished in white paint with varnished mahogany trim and doors, cork cabin sole with loosely laid carpeting.


Ground Tackle
35-lb. Bruce anchor on bow roller with 200' chain, Ideal electric windlass, secondary Danforth anchor in locker, 3-piece Luke storm anchor.
