"Weider Wake" sailing multihull for sale, suitable for ocean passages and liveaboard cruising
History and Construction - Built in the UK for the current owners, sailed in Europe and currently has been stored ashore since September 2011. This Prout Snowgoose Elite was professionally fitted out, with teak trim and many extras added to the initial specification.
A relatively narrow catamaran by modern standards, however very sea-kindly and with proven passage-making abilities. The interior sleeps 7+2, with the galley to starboard and the chart table to port. The owners have maintained this boat in good order since new and they are now looking to retire from sailing. The only item onboard not currently working is the Eberspacher heater. The solid wheelhouse enclosure with canvas aft panels is a great benefit for all-weather sailing.
The engine is a Yanmar diesel, which has undergone a rebuild in 2010 and has done only 35 hours since then. This three cylinder Yanmar is a larger engine than specified by Prout.
Comments - - - "Weider Wake" has a safe and comfortable layout, perfect for long distance sailing. These boats were built to last, with the emphasis on strength and not on lightness of build. Prout Snowgoose owners often hang on to their craft for 20 plus years, (just like "Weider Wake's" owners) which proves their suitability as a sensible and safe cruiser, and a craft which they cannot find a better replacement for.
