Ranger boats were some of the first ever designed to specifically target a single species of fish – the largemouth bass. Since this is the most popular freshwater gamefish in the country, it made sense to delve into details like release wells, casting decks, rod lockers, and electric trolling motor systems which would assist the anglers targeting them. And Ranger made a name for itself doing so. Then this company went a step father, taking Ranger Boats into competitive bassing with performance that is literally eye-watering.
Pads, set-backs, notches, and other hull tweaks were designed in along with construction techniques like pultrusion, urethane core sandwiches, and digital switching, to ensure that these boats are tough enough to match up with their performance potential - which includes blistering speeds and hair-pin turning ability. Today, Ranger has expanded its line to include not just bass boats but also general fishing boats in both fresh and saltwater models, an aluminum series, and even some “Fish-N-Play” multi-purpose boats.
Built on a solid and spacious 90" beam, the total performance design and wide open layout of the 1862 MPV is engineered to excel every time you hit the water. The roomy interior is loaded with standard features. At the helm, instrumentation and switching is complemented by the added strength, legroom, and precision-matched styling of a fiberglass console. There's an amazing amount of storage positioned beneath the handcrafted cockpit seating and even more room for gear beneath the front deck. Also up front, the huge livewell is aerated and includes a built-in timer for even more confidence and convenience. An extruded rail system along the gunnels provides even more room to customize your rig with slide-and-lock fishing and hunting accessories. The port side of the 1862 includes integrated rod tubes with closed and tapered ends for added protection of your favorite sticks.
Rods up to 8'6" in length are ideal for this design. Encased in our rugged, knockabout Rawhide™ finish, the entire interior benefits from a durable, easy-to-clean and slip-resistant texture.
