"Talwyn" sailing cruiser for sale.
History and Construction -
Built in Falmouth, UK in 1990, the boat is designed for serious offshore cruising, with heavy displacement, fine ends and deep rudder which is keel mounted. These Rustlers are still in production today, testament to their inherent sea-kindliness and ease of handling and over 125 of this class have been made.
"Talwyn" which means "fair complexion" in Cornish is no exception to the far travelled Rustler class. She was sailed from the UK when first built, only to return two years later after a circumnavigation and was imported in 1992. The current owner bought her in December 2006 and has made several upgrades including the new Beta engine.
The interior is arranged in two cabins, a cosy saloon with dining table, the engine under the cockpit, an excellent sea-going quarterberth, and the galley to starboard and the navigation area to port. Forward there is the heads and then further forward is the forecabin with sleeping berths.
The Eberspacher heater unit was replaced in 2010. The engine is 2008 and the mainsail is also 2008. The ballast is encapsulated in the keel. The mast is keel stepped and the decks are painted. This Rustler 36 has a good range of electronics including Radar and chartplotter. The boat comes ready to sail away, with many extra items and only the owner's clothes and toolbox is to be removed.
"Talwyn" is a factory finished yacht, a rugged construction hull fitted with good internal joinery and traditional layout.
Comments - - - To suit the serious sailor a no-nonsense boat ready and willing to make long passages. A tough, take-you-anywhere sort of sailboat, that cruises with speed and class. Easy to handle rig, which is fine for single-handed or short handed sailing. Comfortable in a sea, this boat is the thoroughbred of offshore cruisers.
