The new Seaquest RP36 by Reichel/Pugh Yacht Design! With the awards and race victories achieved by the SQ36, awarded the "New Race Boat of the Year USA 2005" by Sailing World magazine, it would have been easy to rest on our laurels. Instead, the team has developed a stunning new 36-foot yacht, the RP36. In our quest to create the ultimate racer-cruiser, it's a significant step closer to perfection. Whilst remaining true to the Seaquest principle of speed through a combination of strength and lightweight design and materials, we took the opportunity to work again with the internationally renowned Reichel-Pugh yacht designers to give our flagship 36-footer the kind of features you'd normally only find on bigger boats. With an eye on racing and fast cruising, we developed an open transom, bringing the lines of the boat up to date and giving the crew that all-important extra cockpit space. We've also added wheel steering giving the helm better control from right around the cockpit in all conditions. Beneath the waterline, the RP36 has a redesigned keel and rudder, with benefits in speed, responsiveness and stability. Inside, you will find a sleek, lightweight cabin that combines cruising comfort with racing functionality. Interior structures and strong, functional fittings create a high-quality, purposeful space to work or relax. There is ample crew accomodation to sleep 10 if you desire with the space equally suitable for serious racing or holiday cruising. As always, we built the new RP36 with painstaking hand made care, using our tried and trusted method of applying stitch glass matts and a balsa core reinforcement below the waterline and a glass in "E Glass" spider frame glassed in from bow to stern. This reduces bonding issues whilst keeping the boat extremely light. In these features you'll notice the differences the moment you take the helm. The new 2006 Seaquest RP36 is a significant step forward and a new standard setter for fast 36 foot class yachts.
