Sunseeker

Even if it is a cliché, the phrase “You’ve come a long way baby” succinctly sums up the story of Sunseeker. The English company that started out as a builder of trailerable day boats has morphed into a superpower on the global marine scene, as it's a leading manufacturer of custom and semi-custom cruisers and superyachts sized from 40 feet at the low end to a colossal 40-meter tri-deck flagship. (A 55-meter is slated for release in 2014.) Over the years, the builder has hit many milestones–among them the early collaboration with Don Shead to develop the race-derived deep-V hulls that have become a Sunseeker trademark–and sealed a reputation for delivering performance along with uber-luxurious appointments and imaginative, even sensational style. The four-decade evolution has been rapid and, according to the company, is the result of this UK builder’s philosophy to embrace change at all costs. By taking risks (Sunseeker embraced technologies like Duoprops and Arneson drives early on) the company has positioned itself as a world-class leader in contemporary yacht design.

Voted One of the Five Best Designed Superyachts in the World

Description/Condition

Located in France this yacht has been Voted one of the Five Best-Designed Superyachts in the World!. Luxurious Equipped, Exceptionally Spacious, Impressive Speeds, Great Sea keeping Ability.

With her dramatic "new edge" styling, the Sunseeker Manhattan 74 is a sleek and powerful luxury motoryacht with a level of finish seldom encountered in a production boat. The styling is aggressive without being overdone, and the Manhattan's spacious four stateroom interior is highlighted throughout by a sea of hi-gloss cherry joiner work and costly designer furnishings.

The floor plan is arranged with a formal dining area forward, opposite the galley on the helm deck level, and a circular staircase in the salon provides private access to the opulent owner's suite. Crew quarters for two are aft of the engine room with access from the cockpit. Topside, the spacious flybridge comes with a built-in food prep center with grill and sink, seating for eight and a sunpad.

Additional features include a teak cockpit sole, a deck access door at the lower helm, a hydraulical transom platform (for retrieving a tender), and a spacious, full-width salon. Built on a weight-efficient deep-V hull with propeller tunnels, twin V-drive 1,200-hp MANs will cruise the yacht in the mid to high 20's and reach a top speed in the excess of 30 knots. Very impressive for a yacht this size.

Manufacturer Provided Description

The Sunseeker Manhattan 74 offers palatial cruising in all kinds of weather. This refined motor yacht dramatically demonstrates what's possible with modern building technology and material. It is the beautifully furnished, large twin-level saloon that first takes the breath away. Then, discover the exceptionally spacious master stateroom. It occupies the full width of the boat, providing sumptuous accommodation in the quietest and most convenient location aboard. As well as a further three cabins, there's a two-berth crew cabin aft. The use of composite materials and innovative construction techniques ensures a process which produces a stronger structure than traditional methods can achieve. Savings in weight translate into a lower power-to-weight ratio which, combined with advanced drive systems, allows high performance to be achieved economically. Powered by a choice of two shaft-driven diesel engines, the Manhattan 74 delivers impressive speeds and a wide cruising range. This yacht undeniably combines familiar Sunseeker performance with a level of style and an attention to detail that helps redefine the concept of luxury.
