Description/Condition

MAINTENANCE

  • WANDA is an average size boat, comfortable and yet very easy to maintain by one person. If you live aboard permanently just keep things in working order, if no, a couple of weeks per year should be enough to keep the WANDA beautiful.

  • As everything is kept as simple as possible she is easy to maintain.

  • Wood, rope, paint, and basic tool, is all you need to maintain her

  • New paint and varnish in 2009

  • Electricity refit in 2010

THE ORIGIN and GENERAL INFORMATION’S

Her inspiration comes from the boats that were used during the past centuries for fishing and for cargo from northern coast of Europe to the coast of south Brittany. They had to be powerful and fast to withstand any kind of weather. The shallow draft was a must to negotiate rivers and other waters. The boats had to be very easy to handle by a small crew. Ship owners had to cut down the increasing costs of labor. It is surprising to see that those criteria’s correspond to an ideal cruising boat. So this way I have Wanda of TW built.

She is a good sailing cruising boat, that a couple will handle with no problem, on a transatlantic crossing she is as fast of a modern 45 feet cruising boat (average 19 days from canary islands to the west indies’) but in style and comfort. (thanks to the heavy displacement)

She is self-sufficient in fuel and water, so you can avoid expensive marinas if you like it.

The general look of WANDA, is well accepted along the people of the sea (fishermen and other working people of the sea) which is a big advantage when you sail further than the European water.

Wanda of TW will be at home, cruising and exploring the world, attending old gaffer meetings, or pottering along the European or American water coast.

The owner has full documentation of the construction, and all the sailing she has done.

“WANDA OF TW” is ready for some new adventures, sadly due to family and personal reasons the owner has to sell.
