A superb Talisman 49, constructed to the highest possible standards and clearly benefiting from a consistently high level of upkeep.

 Built in 1988 in the highly regarded Halmatics Yard, Havant, Talisman owned the mould for the yacht that was consequently used for the Nelson range. The heritage is clear the moment you step on-board - the level of detail and quality of workmanship is exceptional, and documented by a photographic album of the build (available by request).

 "Rhino" received an extensive re-fit in 2002 by Fairlie Restorations, Hamble, including replacement of the teak deck, as well as a Flag blue Awlgrip hull in 2004. In 2012 the engines were completely overhauled with new water pumps, re-con turbos and re-con intercoolers. All sea-cocks have been either over-hauled or replaced, coachroof and foredeck painted, re-upholstered externally and new plotter/AIS fitted.

 The rugged nature of the build meant many Talismans and Nelsons were used for commecial work or charter - "Rhino" has always been owned privately, and the condition and quality really does need to be seen to be appreciated. She epitomises the old adage "they don't build them like they use to".

In our ownership we have thoroughly updated Rhino from one end to the other and there is not one bit of the boat we do not know. We have recently cruised throughout the Channel Islands, France and the West Country and even though we have found her a joy to own the call of going back to a sailing boat is just too hard to ignore. I would happily talk anyone through all of the work we have done to Rhino and in our opinion she now wants for nothing. We have found her extremely comfortable and she is a joy to handle in all conditions.
