With naval architect Tim Jackett in the design seat, Tartan offers passagemaking cruisers from 34 to 53 feet and they also recently introduced their Fantail model for the discerning day sailor. This system combines a pocket boom to hold the mainsail with a self-tacking jib and a 150% reacher on a roller furler. This versatile system helps Tartan deliver well-mannered performance in any wind conditions and is easily managed short-handed. Below, Tartan focuses on luxury accommodations with excellent joinery, ocean-going practicality and rich styling.

Dockside or sailing, the cockpit is the center of on board activities, rack and pinion steering, long contoured seating and a walkthrough transom platform provide comfort and convenience.

Efficient sailing performance is at the core of every Jackett designed Tartan. The new 4700 has been fit with the CCR sail plan, which was originally introduced on the Boat of the Year award winning Tartan 3400.. The rig features a tall fractional working sail plan with a self tacking jib for upwind work and a masthead 155% reacher for great off wind performance.
